I personally believe this is great news for America. We're moving in the right direction, in my eyes. I don't believe in discrimination, and if they didn't allow gays to marry, than that would have been discrimination. Majority vote isn't always best. I know a lot of people DON'T support this issue, but that shouldn't matter. Discrimination is wrong, no matter what the issue. And Bush wanting to make it part of the constitution... That's been pissing me off since I heard of it. >_<

How would you feel if everything was switched, and being gay was considered "normal" and being straight was not? Would you like it if you couldn't marry someone just because you're straight and "everyone else" is gay? I don't think so.

Surely people must realize how it is for gays. Someday, in the future, people will be learning about this time in history. And they will think to themselves, "Damn, they're so barbaric... Not letting gays get married..." Exactly like how we think of slavery -- that it's wrong.

I know people say to be tolerant. Well, tolerance is not good enough! Being tolerated... it just means you know it's there, but you can still hate it. Acceptance should be the answer. Once there's acceptance, there won't be hate crimes against gays.

Yes, I know I'm being optimistic about this, but it's the truth in my eyes. Not everyone will be tolerant, and many more, I'm sure, will not be accepting about this issue, but hopefully, someday, it will happen. And hopefully, I will still be alive to see it, but the way things are going right now, it might be a LONG time away...
