SHOES!
A few weeks ago I bought these awesome shoes when they were on sale:

Gold Wing Sneaker Wedges
Gold Spiked Contrast Wing Wedge Sneakers

Seriously, how cool are these shoes?! They have wings!!! ♥♥ When I was debating on whether to buy them or not, I asked my brother and he was like, "They look too Asian" and I was like, "Are you saying I'm not Asian enough?" and he was like, "Yes." LOL, that troll. It is pretty Asian, but it's too awesome not to own, especially when they were only $24. XP

WORK / MOVING WOES!
Last week was our first week in our new office! We moved from East Kearny Mesa down to Mission Valley, so slightly shorter distance to work, though the commute time is pretty much the same. It's pretty cool being right by the mall(s) and stuff, though I worry about major shopping times (like Christmas!) and how that will make my commute ridiculous. Right now though, it's okay.

Last Monday, when I first walked into the office in the morning, it was SUCH a mess! I mean, I was expecting that, but I was hoping that the cubicles would have been set up, at least. Let's just say that only three of the ten were set up. x_x We basically spent Monday unpacking and setting up what we could (since there's only so much you can really do when you don't have a desk) and just hanging around doing nothing. The movers finally showed up around 3:30 on Monday (they said they'd be there between 1:00-3:00) and when I left at 5:10-ish, they were just starting to put together my cube. Then on Tuesday, I come in and it basically looked the same as before the movers showed up! x_x Seriously, they put together 1.5 (mine was the .5) cubes on Monday, but it was taken apart when I came in, 'cause I guess they realized that they were assembling them wrong (which we all pretty much knew because the cubicles set up were ALL wrong) and yeah. The people without desks just set up our desktops temporarily in either offices or random desks in the main area to work for the day since we need to work, you know? And the movers were suppose to come again, supposedly between 11:00-1:00, but of course they didin't come. I left, but the next day, when I came in, one of the guys said that him and three other people were waiting for the movers until almost 7:00pm and they never showed up! ARGHHHHH! You can tell how the rest of the week went, I'm sure... I was working in my temporary spot the whole week and the movers finally came Friday afternoon, but yeah. I have a cubicle now (today was the first day I actually got to use it), but it's an L, not a U anymore because the movers are seriously incompetent. x_x They were cutting pieces to make them fit and obviously they shouldn't need to since they fit together in the old office. Also, they said there weren't enough pieces for everyone to get U's, so that's why we have L's now, but there are a bunch of left over pieces! Basically, this is lame, but what can you do?

It only took a few weeks before I got on this, so yay me! XP
  • HIKARU NO GO!
So a couple weeks ago I decided to rewatch Hikaru no Go because I was in the mood and it's awesome. XP I basically marathoned through it over about a week and a half. Then on Sunday afternoon, I decided that I should read the manga, because even though I gotten a couple volumes in, I haven't finished it all the way through. So yeah, after only one day of reading on Sunday (because I didn't have a chance to yesterday), I'm already on the start of the Young Lions Tournament. XD I'm hoping I can finish reading the whole series before class starts next week. =)

  • SUPER JUNIOR-M!
The new Super Junior-M album is pretty awesome. ♥ I've been listening to it on repeat at work, lol. My favorite song has to be It's You, because liking cheesy love songs is how I roll. XP
I like this video because it has lyrics, shows me who sings each line, and has the added bonus of making me crack up at how ridiculous everything about that picture is. Also, what is Siwon's face?

  • CARPET!
We got new carpet for our living room last week! I didn't mention it here, but during Thanksgiving, we found out that there was a hot water leak in the foundation, so we had to reroute the pipes. During the reroute process, stuff happened and the dining area near the manifold got flooded, so the carpet was smelling all moldy and stuff. Anyway, we finally bought carpet when [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I came back from vacation and they installed it last week on [personal profile] aznearthdragon's birthday.

  • SHOES!
I've been staring at these shoes on eBay for, like, three weeks trying to decide if I really want them or not, lol.
    Shoes!

They look nice, but I dunno if they look nice enough to drop $50 on them, lol. I mean, I've been wanting sneaker wedges for a while, but a lot of the stuff I've seen aren't really my taste and this is pretty much as close to my taste that I can get that is relatively affordable. I guess I've stare at them some more and decide in a few days, LOL.

I'll end this off here for now. XP

It's been forever since I've written anything here! @_@ I'm not really in a super long entry-writing mode, so let's do a quick update, lol. XP

  • THE BROTHER -- he moved up to Irvine about two weeks ago and started college last Thursday! Gahhh, they grow up so fast!

  • UNIVERSAL STUDIOS -- went there for the first time a few weeks ago on the 16th! It was pretty cool -- definitely more my speed, LOL. I think I liked the tour ride the best. It was cool seeing the sets and stuff. I wish we could actually walk around in them and stuff. That would have been awesome. XP

  • WORK -- it got super busy again a few weeks ago which is both good and bad, lol. I mean, it's good, but I wish it came at a more consistent pace because it kinda drives me crazy when everything comes at once.

  • OFFICE -- We were suppose to move into our new office this month, but it got delayed because the management company didn't even pull the permits until last week. x_x Anyway, we're suppose to be moving in next month, if everything goes as planned.

  • SCHOOL -- class is okay. We're only six weeks in though -- still ten to go! Semester system is seriously too slow, lol. Definitely prefer quarter system. XP

  • DRAMAS -- I've been watching a couple dramas lately (you know, instead of studying and all, lol). The two I've been following are When Love Walked In (because Zhou Mi and Victoria and Calvin!) and Panda and Hedgehog (because Donghae!). It's driving me crazy that When Love Walked In is complete, but hasn't been fully subbed yet on Viki. I mean, I'm patient, but I guess Panda and Hedgehog makes me way more impatient since those subs are 100% a couple days after the episodes air. Anyway, both dramas are good (from what I've seen), but they are the standard drama stuff. The other drama I've watched (just this past weekend, in fact) is Answer to 1997 / Answer Me 1997 / Reply 1997 (whichever you call it, lol). I marathoned that one and it was AMAZING. I will write up post to recommend that one later when I have time (maybe this weekend). Anyway, you should total watch that. XP

That's about it for now. I think I'm gonna go to sleep now. Until next time! XP

It's been a month since I last posted! I fail at this posting regularly business... I also fail at writing entries in one sitting (considering I've been working on this one on an off the last couple days...), lol.

  1. NU'EST!

How adorable is this MV?! Because seriously, SO ADORABLE! Also, this is my favorite song from their mini album. ♥

  2. SHINHWA BROADCAST!
I don't think I've mentioned Shinhwa Broadcast here, but this show is seriously the greatest thing ever, LOL. Before I started watching, my knowledge of Shinhwa was limited to old boyband who recently made their comeback, lol. I mean, I caught their comeback stage on M! Countdown back in March and I really liked their songs, but that was pretty much it. Then one day during my lunch break (during the week my bosses were gone on vacation) I decided to start watching Shinhwa Broadcast because I needed something to watch. After the first episode, I was sold, LOL. The six of them are just so hilarious and awesome together! Also, it's pretty cool how they're still going strong 14 years later. XD Anyway, this show is amazing and you should definitely watch it! My favorite episodes are the Weird Olympics ones and the Gentleman's Dignity ones (though really, all the episodes are awesome).

    Subbed episodes are either here (episodes 1-4, 7, 16-21) or here (episodes 5-19). I think there are only going to be 30 episodes, but I hope it gets renewed for another season because I never want this show to end. ;_____;

  3. MESA!
Classes start next week! ;_____; I signed up for Chinese 102 and some real estate class that [personal profile] aznearthdragon wants me to take with her. I'm kinda worried about Chinese though since [personal profile] aznearthdragon refuses to take it with me. =( I hope it's not too bad... I dunno if I can even handle classes though. I'm always so tired when I get home from work. =/

  4. SICK!
So I dunno if I would say I'm sick sick, but I have been feeling super tired since about yesterday or so. I just don't feel like I have any energy. =/ Yesterday when I was doing Insanity, I was already exhausted and it was only a few minutes in the beginning AND I'm on the Recovery Week, so I have no idea what's up. =( I feel like I can justifiably blame my boss for this though, lol, because he's been sick since last week and I've probably caught whatever he has. =/ I hope my body gets over it soon because this sucks.

  5. WORK!
Work has been kinda hectic lately. @_@ I don't wanna get all into it, but yeah.. Anywayz, my bosses told us today that they found an office space! They're putting an offer on it today, but I hope we get it. =)

I'm super tired, so I'll just end here. Only 2.5 more hours left of work, then I can finally go home and probably sleep. x_x
remula: (Default)
  1. INSANITY!
I started doing Insanity last Friday. @_@ I'll tell you right now that it's crazy and I'm drenched in sweat everyday from it, LOL. Hopefully I can push through it and finish off the two months!

  2. WORK!
The bosses went off for their vacation yesterday afternoon, so now it's just the three of us in their house, lol. My friend/coworker is house-sitting for them -- she'll get to experience what working at home is like for a week, hahahah. XP It's definitely going to be weird not having them around this week though. And I'm sure that everyone's going to decide to call us this week asking for the boss when he's not here because that's how life always is. -_-

  3. I LOVE ITALY!
Is anyone else watching this drama? Because I just started watching it, like, three days ago and now I'm all caught up to episode 14 and seriously, WTF! LOLOLOL. I mean, cliffhanger much?! I need the next episode like breathing! ;________; Anyway, the show is pretty good, if you can get over the huge age difference between the main characters. I didn't really get emotionally invested in their relationship (probably because I can't get over the age difference when one party is 14 years old), but I definitely got invested in the show, LOLOL. I mean, Kibum is totally adorable being a 14-year-old in a 25-year-old body and his relationship with Lee Tae Ri is kinda charming, in a weird way (you know, when you don't think too hard about his real age). But yeah, next episode please!!!

  1. MESA!
Had my Chinese oral final on Tuesday and had my Chinese written final on Thursday, so officially done with Mesa for the semester! \o/ The oral wasn't too bad, but I keep getting corrected on my second tone because apparently I don't go up all the way. x_x The written final was okay too, but the professor made it super tricky! The worst question had to be on the first reading comprehension section. The narrative was about a guy who lives in America and works in America (at his house and his dad's house) and in China. It went something like, "On Mondays and Thursdays, Wang Peng works at home. On Thursdays and Sundays, he works at his dad's house. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, he works in China." and it also said the times he goes to work. (On two of the days, he goes to work at 6AM; on two days, he goes to work at 11:15AM; on two days, he goes to work at 3PM. Then the last question of the section was like, "Which days should Wang Peng's girlfriend go to his house if she wants to dance with him in the mornings?"

Seriously? How do you answer this correctly?!

I decided she could definitely go on Tuesday, since he doesn't work that day. Then I decided that on the days that he works in the afternoons, she could go over too. And I decided that 11:15AM was late enough that it doesn't count as morning. But then I eliminated the two days that he works in China, even though one of them could have fit into the morning criteria, because I was thinking, "He has to travel to China! He won't be home in the morning!" but really, he works in China on two random days that aren't even consecutive, so maybe the professor doesn't expect logic to apply! So ridiculous! x_x

  2. WORK!
This upcoming week will be ONE MONTH since I started working! \o/ So weird, LOL! I haven't really talked about work here, but I like my job. It's not really hard and I enjoy the people I work with, so it's good. =) The bosses want to move to an office before their kids get out of school for summer, but I dunno if we'll even be able to do that since they haven't even found office space for us yet. (I think I mentioned it before, but just in case I didn't, we're currently working out of their house, lol.)

  3. AVENGERS
Finally went to watch Avengers today with [personal profile] aznearthdragon and the brother! Pretty much everyone has watched it already, but we were holding off until we were done with Mesa to go. Anyway, it was pretty awesome! ♥

  4. VELLUM / BOOKSHELF!
So late, but I finally added my Vellum project to my online portfolio today! Seriously, I am a ridiculous person, LOL. I mean, I told myself I would add it after I took pictures of it, but yeah... I took pictures of the bookshelf back in JULY last year and now, TEN MONTHS LATER, I finally get around to photoshopping the photos I took and uploading them to my website. *sweatdrop* Total fail, lololol. Anyway, here are some actual NICE pictures of my bookshelf!

    My bookshelf!My bookshelf!My bookshelf!My bookshelf!

Please ignore the book selection, LOL. I mean, I wanted a bunch of different sized books, especially really tall ones for the tall sections, but I was limited to the books I had with me when I went to take photos. So, you know, random architecture books I had, a bunch of Arch Record magazines, and some of the books I read or was reading at the time, LOL. XP Still amazed that I actually built this thing from scratch all by myself! @_@ (And now it is sitting in my garage at home because there isn't really any space to put it in the house, LOL.)

  1. POTATO CHIP ROCK!
Last weekend [personal profile] aznearthdragon, her boyfriend, and one of our friends from high school went to Lake Poway to hike up to Potato Chip Rock, which is about 7-ish miles total (there a back) from the start of the trail. I'm so out of shape, I was so sore the day after, lol. Anyway, here's our best picture of us on the rock!

    Potato Chip Rock!
It was kinda scary doing that pose because it was pretty windy up there, LOL.

  2. MESA!
So [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I dropped the C++ class since our brother couldn't get into his (and the only reason we were taking it was for him, lol). We're still taking Chinese though! Our Chinese professor is pretty funny, lol. He has such an expressive face and he always gets really shocked when people in the class make weird comments. XP

Besides that, OMG, Mesa got such an upgrade! At least, to the entrance area of the campus, lol. It was totally weird the first day when we went because everything looked so different! I guess five years away makes a difference. XP

  3. SNSD!
My friend Amanda informed me that SNSD was on the David Letterman show last night!

(I still think the Korean version of the song is better, lol.)

They were also on Live! With Kelly this morning, which was slightly better because the hosts actually talked with them for, like, a minute. =/ Hopefully they're on more shows and will get more screentime here in the US!

  4. SNOWBOARDING!
This weekend we're going snowboarding at Snow Summit/Big Bear! It'll be my first time, so I'm totally nervous. I'm not good with, like, steepness, so this will be... something, LOLOLOL.

新年快樂! 恭喜發財!
Happy Lunar New Year!

So far today seems like a good start for the new year because I got a call for a job interview on Wednesday! (Well, they called me last Thursday about an interview, but I had to ask them to reschedule because I've been called to go to jury duty on Friday.) It's another CAD job at an engineering firm, but hopefully it goes well. It's kinda far from my house, but still, a job is a job and I can't be too picky, lol.

In other news, today is the first day of Mesa and [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I signed up for night classes this semester, so yeah. On MW we have C/C++ and on TR we have Chinese 101. Chinese shouldn't be too bad since I've actually taken it at Cal Poly, but I dunno about C++, lol. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Lastly, you can now claim your OpenID on Dreamwidth! =)

  1. [personal profile] aznearthdragon got us tickets to a screening of Sherlock Holmes 2 tomorrow! \o/

  2. My birthday is on Tuesday! =) I don't think I'm gonna do anything special this year.

  3. Last weekend, we went to the FREEcember Concert and saw Cody Simpson. XD We got there kinda late-ish, so we missed Karmin since we were still in line (but they sounded pretty good). Anyway, I couldn't really see much because of all the people, but yeah, it was still fun. XP He sang Good As It Gets, Angel, On My Mind, and iYiYi last (iYiYi is totally my favorite, lololol). Sadly he did not sing All Day, which is my second favorite, lol.

  1. You guys remember Number Munchers? Because that game was totally my favorite game ever back in kindergarten and first grade and I was always super excited whenever our class had time scheduled in the computer lab because that meant we could play it for a whole hour, LOLOLOL. XP

  2. [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I are marathoning Big Bang Theory from the beginning! Before we started, I had only seen about half of the first season, then I fell behind because of school and stuff, but yeah. We started on Friday and we finished watching the first season yesterday. I'm sure we'll be caught up in no time, lol. XD

  3. Yesterday Sam, [personal profile] aznearthdragon, and I went to some LEED tour of the first private LEED Platinum building in San Diego. It was for one of Sam's real estate classes, but [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I just tagged along to check it out. The building was the community center or whatever for the housing development in Del Sur. The tour thing was pretty boring, but it was still cool to see what it looked like, even if I wasn't a fan of the architecture. Anyway, after the tour, we decided to go check out some of the model homes in the community since we were already there and ended up wandering around looking at houses and taking a bunch of pictures, lol. XP

  4. Wonder Girls!

I think the English version sounds better than the Korean one though -- it just flows better!

  1. Everyone was doing it on Tumblr, so I figured, why not?
remula.dreamwidth.org is probably written by a female between 13-17 years old. The writing style is personal and happy most of the time.
I suppose this is mostly accurate, except for my age.

sp.remula.com is probably written by a female between 36-50 years old. The writing style is personal and happy most of the time.
I think it's funny that the age basically has the same percentage for 13-17, 18-25, and 26-35, and that 36-50 only beat out those three ranges by just a bit more.

And just for completeness, my tumblrs... )

  2. Recently I've been thinking about eating raw Top Ramen and how that was the snack to eat during recess back in elementary school. (At least it was at my elementary school, LOL.) I remember it being really good and that the chicken flavor tasted the best and I kinda crave it now, except not really because I'm generally not a fan of instant ramen. XP But seriously, raw Top Ramen! You should try it if you never have, lol. XP

  3. In other news, I am still trying to find a job and job hunting still sucks. =/ I want to be optimistic, but it's hard when 95% of the jobs I've apply to never even respond back. I mean really, I'd rather get a stupidly generic rejection email than nothing at all! =(((( Anyway, if you know of any entry-level architecture or anything even remotely construction-related jobs in the San Diego area, please send that info my way. (I should probably expand my search outside of SD, but I'm still holding onto my hopes of finding something here!)

BLACKOUT!

Sep. 9th, 2011 11:31 am
remula: (Default)
So yesterday around 3:40PM, the power went out. We called our parents and apparently their power went out at work as well, so that's how we figured it was out all over San Diego. Sadly we were woefully unprepared because we don't have internet on our phones and we don't have a radio, so we couldn't really get any news. Then we realized that [personal profile] aznearthdragon and our brother had radio on their Zune/Sansa, so we used that to get news, lol. Later, we went outside to walk around since it was dark and there was nothing to do and then ended up watching news over at our next-door neighbor's garage because they powered it with their car. Later, we got bored and went back home to listen to music and the radio on the brother's Zune. Basically we are very dependent on electricity and life was very boring, especially when it started to get dark and you can't really do anything. x_x

The power came back on around 3AM and we woke up at 6AM because our brother's school called to remind us there wasn't school today. We watched the news for a while, then went back to sleep (because it was too early!) and yeah. We had to throw out a bunch of food from the fridge earlier which pretty much sucked because we had just bought some of that stuff. x_x Anyway, in case you were affected and don't know what to throw out, here's the list from the USDA (gotta scroll down a bit).

Hope everyone is having a good day off. =)

Today's weather has been weird. There's been short bursts of rain throughout the day and it's all overcast and looks nice and cool outside, except it's actually hot, so it sucks, lol.

Yesterday [personal profile] aznearthdragon, our brother, and I rewatched Iron Man, which I haven't seen since it came out and apparently I did not remember a lot of what happened, lol. Then we finally watched Iron Man 2, which we hadn't seen before. Now I am craving Steve/Tony/Pepper fics because Steve/Tony is OTP, but Tony/Pepper at the end of Iron Man 2 was kind of adorable -- obviously the three of them together is win. XP Sadly, the only Steve/Tony/Pepper fic I know of is Magnetic and I've probably reread that one way too many times. XP

...

Okay, just kidding, apparently the author of Magnetic just posted a sequel to it today (YAYAYAYAY!), so I'm just going to go read that now, LOL. Thank goodness I went looking for the fic again to reread for the millionth time. XD
