AN ARTICLE! Unemployment Soars Among College Majors Like Architecture, which includes the best first line ever!
If you want the best odds of getting a job after graduation, don't major in architecture.

TUTORING! In other news, aznearthdragon got me an interview at some tutoring place for Saturday morning! She went in today after she was done with work and she said it didn't go so well for her since she wasn't prepared. =/ Anyway, aznearthdragon said I need to brush up on my pre-calc and calculus. Kkinda sucks since I haven't really done math in forever, but whatever, I'll review tomorrow and we'll see how it goes. Hopefully things work out so I can actually make some money while I'm looking for an actual job in my field.

I've been reading a lot of WIPs lately which is horrible since I hate having to wait for more, but I'm just really bad at telling myself not to read, lol. It's also making me feel weird because now I don't really have fics to rec since I generally dislike reccing WIPs. IDK, I just don't like subjecting people to possibly abandoned fics or the possibility that the story might go into DNW territory in the future because sometimes that happens. =/

I hate when you go and apply for a job online and they say upload/paste your resume, but they only accept text or Word files! I mean, I should really just make a nicely formatted text version of my resume, with all the time I spend C&Ping the stupid thing into boxes and then fixing them to look not-horrible. But still, SO ANNOYED! It's like, PDFs are freakin' universally accepted and I am the anal type who wants my resume to look the fucking same anytime you view it! Also, I spent the time formatting it to look just the way I wanted it in InDesign and having to submit a Word file (which, to me, is worse then C&Ping text) totally defeats the purpose of having a nicely formatted resume! x_x (Which is to say, I applied for a job and said company emailed me back asking specifically for a Word version of my resume and I've been putting it off because I'm lazy, but I'm gonna get around to it after this, but really, if you want a Word doc, WHY DOES YOUR UPLOAD THING LET ME CHOOSE A PDF FILE?!)

Everyone was doing it on Tumblr, so I figured, why not?

I suppose this is mostly accurate, except for my age.

I think it's funny that the age basically has the same percentage for 13-17, 18-25, and 26-35, and that 36-50 only beat out those three ranges by just a bit more.

Recently I've been thinking about eating raw Top Ramen and how that was the snack to eat during recess back in elementary school. (At least it was at my elementary school, LOL.) I remember it being really good and that the chicken flavor tasted the best and I kinda crave it now, except not really because I'm generally not a fan of instant ramen. XP But seriously, raw Top Ramen! You should try it if you never have, lol. XP

In other news, I am still trying to find a job and job hunting still sucks. =/ I want to be optimistic, but it's hard when 95% of the jobs I've apply to never even respond back. I mean really, I'd rather get a stupidly generic rejection email than nothing at all! =(((( Anyway, if you know of any entry-level architecture or anything even remotely construction-related jobs in the San Diego area, please send that info my way. (I should probably expand my search outside of SD, but I'm still holding onto my hopes of finding something here!)

I like to procrastinate too much. Total time I've spent (physically) working on my thesis over break: FIVE MINUTES. Considering it's already Tuesday and I'm planning on going out/not being home to work on stuff on Friday and Saturday and that I will be spending most of Sunday in a car heading back up to SLO, things aren't looking that great. =/ But whatever, have this meme and make fun of my taste in music! XP

I should probably work on stupid studio stuff... *sigh* You would think that the fact that our winter quarter studio grade rides on whatever we present when we get back would be motivation, but somehow I am not motivated. x_x I wish there was a way to just magically get everything done when you think of it because I actually have spent plenty of time thinking about my project and what I want to have done and what I want to present, but it just takes forever to actually get stuff done. -_-

Luckily, or unluckily, depending on how you want to look at it, I just changed bags right before going to New York, so my stuff has kind of already been pre-cleaned before doing this meme, so a lot of the random junk that usually builds up is stuck in my old handbag and the stuff I figured I actually needed migrated to the new bag. XP

I just bought before heading to New York -- I couldn't resist because I was sadly lacking a green purse (considering half my wardrobe is green) and it was on clearance for $5.80. XP

Sadly I do not carry a bunch of cute things around, so it's probably not as fun from that point of view, lol. (I'm just super boring, it's true!)

Phone -- usually I carry this in my jacket pocket, but if I don't have a jacket on, it goes in my bag. XP

Blistex -- the blue lip medex Blistex is better, but I carry the stick kind in my purse.

Random Stuff from New York -- pamphlet from visiting the 9/11 Memorial, ticket for the Guggenheim, pass to visit Ronnette Riley's office in the Empire State Building, ticket for going up to the observation deck in the Empire State Building, and my boarding pass to get on my flight to NY with scribbles of how much money I owe people and people owe me from the trip, lol.

Camera Bag -- camera was obviously in my hand for this. XP

Keys and ID -- as with my phone, I usually carry this in my jacket pocket as well.

Mirror (red job corps thing) -- I got this at a job fair back in high school, lol.

Pens and a Sharpie -- this is such a reduction to the amount of pens I typically carry, lol. I have about four other purses/handbags that I rotate between and they each have their own random set of pens (around 10-ish) always in them, lol.

Bag of Cough Drops -- I bought it a few days ago from the Health Center and forgot to take them out of my bag. Not that it matters since studio peepz are intent on getting me sick again after I just got over it. ;_;

Olfa Blade -- it's only because I need it to work on my model, okay? Typically if I have a blade in my bag, it would be my bigger Olfa, but I don't actually know where that one is right now. =/ Hopefully I can find it soon...

I've been complaining about school a lot recently, so except for the first item, I will refrain from school talk in this post. XP

I had my ARCH 443 midterm today -- I thought it was okay, but there were a few that I was kind of iffy about. I'm positive I got all the extra credit questions right, so hopefully that makes up for the ones I was unsure about, lol.

Panic! At The Disco's new song! I like that it kind of sounds more like their first album because I liked that one better than their second. XP But yeah, I'm pretty excited to hear the rest of the album -- March 29, why so far away?

The preview for the Warblers singing Bill Bill Bills on Glee! NGL, when I first heard it, I totally LOL'd because, seriously, the Warblers singing Bills Bills Bills is kind of ironic, but, on the other hand, I kind of need the rest of this song and the accompanying scene in my life, stat! XP Why is February so far away? Also, how much does it suck that Kurt and Blaine are only in the Super Bowl episode for a few minutes? Because they are pretty much one of the only reasons I will continue watching Glee and I need them to have tons of screen time where they make heart eyes at each other forever, sing a bunch of duets, and get together with lots of making out. XP

Last night I had a nightmare in which we were back in school already and somehow it was midterm review time and I had absolutely NOTHING done since our review a few weeks ago and I was basically freaking the fuck out. Luckily I woke up before it was actually my turn to present, but yeah. I was SUPER STRESSED when I woke up. -_-

Segue to what I have been doing this break, which is basically nothing school-related at all. (Possibly the reason for my horrible dream? Subconscious guilt for not thinking about school or something, LOL.) What I have been doing is watching movies.

aznearthdragon and I watched Easy A, Knight and Day (with our brother), How to Train Your Dragon, Prince of Persia, Robin Hood, and Shutter Island (the last four with our brother and our mom). Movies are awesome, but are totally a time-suck, lol. Besides that, we recently bought Jenga, Uno, and Skip-Bo during our Christmas shopping expeditions, so we've been playing a whole lot of that as well.

I miss

aznearthdragon so much! Seriously, I feel like we haven't had an actual conversation in FOREVER and then today, we finally kind of had one on GTalk, LOL, though it was mostly me venting about people and her agreeing with me because she is awesome and understands what I'm trying to say without a lot of effort. (The benefits of growing up and living with your best friend, right? ♥) Here is the most hilarious and relevant part of the conversation:

Just to be PC, we obviously don't think that girls who hug guys are desperate and the way the conversation progressed to that point (and afterwards), it was meant to be taken as a joke. But yeah, we were just talking about people (girls) who are kind of... boy-crazy or whatever, and how it's annoying when they are so focused on all their "guy friends" that they push their real friends off to the side. Seriously, that kind of personality -- so annoying! (Especially when they do things like bake all the guys cookies and brownies to get back on their good side after being a giant ditcher who ditches. ...Not that I'm talking about anyone or anything specific. *cough*)

Day 20 -- This Month | Master List
This month is kind of stressful in that chill kind of way, if you know what I mean, LOL. Like, on the one hand, second half of the quarter, gotta get shit DONE before finals! On the other hand, second half of the quarter, done with Vellum and only have to focus on thesis project (in studio)! (Except how I have to finish my bookshelf still, obviously, but yeah, LOL, not so stressed about deadline for that.)

Yeah, I'm totally skipping two days of class (November 22-23) for Thanksgiving, lol. XP (Six hour drive and I'll ALREADY BE HOME for the weekend before! Can you really blame me?!) And finals week is lame because Thursday final, really? I could have been home already if I was in the other CRP 336 section since they only have a final paper! x_x Anyway, club is also having an senior field trip thing around the first week of break (after finals) because most of the board is 5th year and we can't go to convention, lol. (Yeah, officers always take advantage of the system, right? But we do the most work, so whatever.) Anyway, we were planning on Aspen at first, but the two people who really wanted Aspen can't even go, so it might be New York instead. New York was my first choice anyway, so hopefully we do change it. ^_~

Day 21 -- Another Moment | Master List
Moments are hard! There wasn't anything super memorable the last couple of days. Or, at least, the things that are memorable aren't exactly happy things I want to talk about, so yeah. Hmm... Okay, some weird conversation came up a few minutes ago about elementary school fundraisers, so we'll talk something tangential to that. XP So in elementary school, we used to have these movie days in the afternoon, like a couple of times a year as a fundraiser because they'd show a movie in the cafeteria and sell popcorn and candy and different snacks and whatever. So one time, the movie was Casper and Wendy, probably around the time it just came out on tape or whatever and we went because it was after school and our mom didn't come to pick us up until 4:30PM (school ended around 2:30 or 3:00 or something like that -- it changed a lot, lol). Anyway, so we watched that and I remember back then we were really into eating pickles, LOL, so we totally bought a bunch of pickles to eat along with chocolate or whatever, haha. Lovely combination, right? I can't really remember more the fact that we watched that movie and ate a bunch of pickles, LOL, but there it is. XP

My roommates (plus one friend each, lol) -- they are awesome, but they were seriously starting to annoy me last night. I mean, if you read my tweets, you probably saw my conversation with cindy_pon about it, LOL. XP But seriously, besides the fact that they took ten million years to get ready, then took almost an hour trying to find a ride, they came home around 2:15 and decided to have two super loud conversations. I mean, I was still awake at the time since I just got out of the shower, but I did want to sleep. I stayed up with them for about an hour or so talking, but when they got into a loud screaming conversation about one girl's epic love triangle, I decided it was time to just leave and go to bed. XP Unfortunately they were being SUPER LOUD for almost an hour more, so really, it wasn't like I left because I could still hear most of their conversation. -_-

I ended up not going to the reception last night, so I didn't get to take any pictures of cool furniture, but to make up for it, I took the pictures off of from my roommate's camera, since she left it out when they left. My friend is having a Halloween party tonight, but I don't have a costume, lol. I'm pretty sure I agreed sometime this week to go just because Nathan (guy who's having the party) made me shake (I didn't even know on what) so he would stop trying to mess with my laptop, then he was like, "See you Saturday" so yeah. x_x I really hope my friend (who also doesn't drink) ends up going too because I really need a sober buddy to laugh at all the drunk people with. XP

It is freezing in the living room and I wish I had my green prom dress I wore to ROTC Ball in senior year because I would totally rock that as a Halloween costume if it was here! (How much easier can it get than wearing an old prom dress as a costume? I would say the red dress I actually wore for prom too, but I didn't like that one as much, LOL.)
