I feel like it's been a while since I last posted. Hopefully everyone had a good time over the holidays. I pretty much spent the last week or so catching up on Greek and on Glee and not working on my project at all. x_x

Some thoughts on Greek: Rusty, you are embarrassing, as usual. I don't know if I like his new girlfriend or not, but I am annoyed that her whole personality kind of changed when he got together with her. x_x Also, the whole Rusty/Katherine thing was kind of awkwardly hilarious, but also gave me tons of secondhand embarrassment, LOL. As for Casey and Cappie, I keep changing my mind on whether I want them to work out or not. I mean, they are cute together, but I understand Casey's frustrations with Cappie wanting to stay in college forever. And then Calvin -- I felt bad that him and Grant weren't really on the same page anymore about their relationship, but NGL, I was kind of happy when they broke up because I never really liked Grant anyway. XP I hope Calvin finds someone awesome in this next season. Also, is this next season the last one? Because I can't imagine it going any longer since Casey and them are graduating already... Whatever, new season starts tomorrow! (I say this as if I will be able to keep up with it, lol.)

Some thoughts on Glee: The thing is, [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I don't really like Glee, so catching up (we last left off right after sectionals from the first season) was mostly us being super annoyed at almost everyone, LOL. IDK, it's kind of like when I sometimes keep reading a bad fic because I want to know what happens, even though I'm vaguely horrified. But yeah, so much rage at most of the characters in the show! Especially Artie because I kind of thought he was okay before (minus the whole being an ass about the stuttering thing), but now I just want to smack him for being a complete douche! I'm glad Tina dumped him because he turned into such a jerk and I'm sad that Brittany is with him because I actually like Brittany. I could complain about a lot more things, like how much I can't stand Schuester even when he's being okay-ish (I kind of wanted him to die from his sickness and never come back because he is a horrible teacher, seriously, I'm so annoyed that everyone keeps saying otherwise), but let's just talk about other things, like how awesome Brittany is (So awesome! Especially the Britney Spears episode!) and how cute Tina and Mike are (OMG, their duet!) and how Emma and Carl are totally adorable (Seriously, SO ADORABLE!) and how Blaine has giant heart eyes for Kurt (Everytime they are together, I'm so distracted by his giant heart eyes, lol! GET TOGETHER ALREADY!).

Anyway, let's talk about New Years! Yesterday I went out to eat dim sum with my family. =) It was awesome because I haven't had dim sum in forever. I totally ate way too much, lol. We also went to Fry's yesterday because my brother's computer suddenly stopped working on Friday and he had to buy some parts to fix it or whatever. While we were there, [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I ran into someone we kinda knew from high school. It was kind of bad b/c we were just walking through the isles and she saw us first and called out to us and I remembered her face, but I couldn't remember her name at all. We did the whole "how are yous" and "are you done with school" and stuff, then she asked if we still talked to her cousin and [personal profile] aznearthdragon just kind of looked at each other because we couldn't remember who her cousin was. She obviously realized because she said his name, lol. I feel extra guilty though because her cousin was my ex-boyfriend and I should have probably remembered that. -_-

The rest of my new years day was filled with me sitting in a car because I could only find a ride back up to SLO yesterday instead of today. There wasn't any traffic, so we made the trip in five hours. Sadly it is raining up here (and will be raining for the next few days) and it's freaking cold. =/

Why does school have to be starting again tomorrow? I am not prepared at all and I pretty much did nothing the entire break, so I feel even worse because I should have worked on my thesis project more. ;_;

Anyway, here's my schedule, if you're interested...

Yeah, apparently the form is broken right now...

No studio this quarter! Honestly, even though this is 21 units, I feel like there is SO much free time! I mean, look at that schedule! There are so many empty boxes! What is this?! Compared to last quarter, it’s practically like I have no class at all! (I’m kind of excited, can you tell?!)

The only thing I’m disappointed with is having to retake ARCE 302. =/ It totally cut into the Environmental Psychology class I wanted to take! *sigh* But what can I do? After much debating with myself, I figured it’d be best to retake it this quarter than wait until next Fall to retake it, since there’d be a chance that ARCE 302 would interfere with studio if I hold off on it..

One of the most exciting things by far is the almost no class thing on Friday! What is THAT! It’ll probably be the least amount of class I’ll ever see on a Friday, haha. And also, the pretty empty Wednesday as well! I suppose I should enjoy it while it lasts, since this will be my only quarter ever without having studio. XP

I still feel like I’m getting a “normal” quarter for once, even though it’s 21 units. I mean, I’ve always envied how other people just didn’t have class and now I pretty much don’t have class either! (Yes, this is my version of basically no class. There isn’t much arguing with that when you look at my “typical” schedules, haha.)

Until next time…! (Hopefully that won’t be so far away since I’m trying to blog more!)

Most likely will be dropping GRC 101, but I want to go to at least the first class to see how much work it’ll be, just in case it might be easy to do.

Also, it doesn’t help that I’ll be missing this Thursday and Friday of class because I’m going to the CSI West Region Conference. x_x I should probably e-mail my teachers to tell them.. Or should I just tell them on the first day of class? Whatever I do, I probably won’t be able to make up the classwork, so I’m not really sure…

[UPDATED SEPTEMBER 27, 2009 @ 7:40PM]: Dropped GRC 101, even though it seemed kinda interesting, ’cause I figured having a break to eat would be more beneficial than running up to the PAC (from the other end of the school) and back down for just an hour-long class. XP I guess I can always take it next quarter or something.. Also, didn’t get either job I applied for. Although I’m semi-disappointed, I’m relieved as well, since I don’t think I would even be able to handle it.

The courses I'm taking this quarter, in case you wanted more information on why my life is so hectic all the time. XP

Time Schedule
ARCE 223 // MWF // 1210-1300
ARCH 353 // MWF // 1310-1800
ARCE 351 // T // 0810-1100
ARCE 223 // R // 0810-1100
ARCH 342 // TR // 1310-1400
ARCE 227 // TR // 1410-1500
ARCH 342 // TR // 1610-1800
MLL 103 // Credit By Eamination

ARCH 353 // Architectural Design 3.3
Catalog Description: Development and exploration of architectural theories, building systems, and design processes involved in creating appropriate architecture with an emphasis on socio-cultural and space planning/life safety concerns.
My Take: This is the class I usually refer to as "studio". As an architecture student, I have a studio every quarter, fifteen hours a week. We also get a key to our studios, so I can be in studio at any time, depending on what I have to due and stuff like that. This quarter, my design project for the quarter is to design a winery on a site located in Paso Robles (Central Coast, California).

ARCH 342 // Architectural Practice 3.2
Catalog Description: Concepts, methods and processes pertaining to the preparation of outline specifications, production of design development drawings, life safety, systems integration and cost estimating.
My Take: Another core architecture course. It's broken up into a lecture component and an activity component. I usually refer to the lecture component of this class as either "lecture" or "practice". The lecture portion is just that -- a one-hour lecture two days a week. The activity portion this quarter is with the same professor I have for studio. Usually when this happens, practice activity turns into just a continuation of studio, and that's not any different this quarter.

ARCE 223 // Mechanics of Structural Members
Catalog Description: Advanced topics of stresses in beams. Plastic bending, unsymmetrical bending. Combined stresses. Stress transformation. Buckling. Deflection of beams. Material test laboratory.
My Take: Taking this class for my ARCE minor -- I'm not so hot at ARCE and I haven't taken a real ARCE class for a year, so lots of troubles. There's a lecture and a lab component to this class. The lecture has homework due every Friday with about eight problems per week. For me, eight problems DEFINITELY take more than eight hours. =( 'Cause I suck at ARCE hardcore. =/ Also, another issue I have is that this an ARCE core major class, so all those ARCE students will definitely bring up the curve. =(

ARCE 351 // Structural Computing Analysis
Catalog Description: Computer calculations, programming basics and technical reporting. Emphasis on use of spreadsheets as a tool to analyze structural elements.
My Take: Lab class that is attached to ARCE 223. We're mostly working on Excel in the class, but the labs seem to be super long. =( Also, we have homework excel projects to do every week, so I'm kinda worried it'll take a lot of time. =/

ARCE 227// Structures III
Catalog Description: Advanced topics in two-dimensional and three-dimensional equilibrium of structural building systems.
My Take: Another ARCE major class. The thing is, I'm retaking this class 'cause I failed it last year. x_x I pretty much know most of the information for the class (since I learned it last year, but messed up on the two tests in the class), so I'm hoping that I can do really well this time. The bad news is that the homework is still long, so lots of time will be devoted to this class as well. =/

MLL 103 // Foreign Language III -- Chinese
Catalog Description: Organized group instruction arranged for students who wish to acquire basic skills in a foreign language indicated by subtitle. Laboratory drill required. Language taught in its cultural context.
My Take: The third quarter of Chinese class. I'm taking this credit by examination 'cause the times interfere with my studio. x_x Kinda bad taking it by exam 'cause you don't learn as much as you would in class -- especially since this is a language class. But the thing is, I've gotten through the other two quarters of Chinese, so it would be a waste if I can't even say I completed a year of Chinese. Last quarter, I also took Chinese by examination, but this quarter is super busy with architecture and ARCE, but hopefully I can still do well self-studying Chinese on top of that.

So yeah, there is is. The only major problem I have with my schedule is that I'm taking ARCH major core classes and ARCE major core classes at the SAME TIME. There is obviously problems with the workload because of that, since people from either of those majors would just have the core classes (read: intense workload since it's your major) plus one/two GEs or side classes. I, on the other hand, have double the hardcore workload. x_x Let's just hope I survive with adequate grades.

So I just registered for classes.. I ended up choosing Wynn for studio.. Blah. I hope I can move up on the waitlist for ARCE. I don't really mind which one it is, so yeah.. BLAHHHHHH!

I said I would type my schedule, so here it is....

Period Days Class
1 ALL P.E.
2 Mon./Thurs.
Tue./Fri.
Pre-Enginnering
Construction
3 Mon./Thurs.
Tue./Fri.
Geometry
Physics
4 ALL English/Public Speaking

And then on Wednesdays, it's all the Monday/Thursday classes. -_- That sucks, 'cause I have Mr. Little THREE days a week instead of two. *sigh* I wish I still had Tuesday/Friday Geometry classes, even though I had him on Fridays, it's better than having him MORE times a week.

I have a lot of homework from Physics.... *sigh* Good thing it's due in a few weeks. ^_^

I have a test on Tuesday in my Pre-Enginnering and Design class... *sigh* I don't think I'll do very well...

You know, I realized that I haven't even wrote my schedule in here....
Well, here it is:

1 - P.E.
2 - English
3 - Physics (on Mondays and Thursdays) / Geometry (on Tuesdays and Fridays)
4 - Construction Tech (on Mondays and Thursdays) / Pre-Engineering and Design (on Tuesdays and Fridays)

Yes, you read right... only 4 periods... Kearny's going with the 4x4 schedule now... For all those who don't know what that is, it means that you take four classes and finish that class by the end of the semester, so next semester you get different classes.. [but it's a little different for the Construction Tech Academy...]. Every day counts as two days, and if you miss about two or three days, you get Saturday School... miss about 5 days, and you fail the class. *sigh* 90 minutes in one class... Everyone at the same luch time..long lines! *sigh* You know that life sucks, right?

Well, enough of that. I'm going for now.
