  1. Yesterday, I saw this on tumblr and cracked up:
The Duck and the Decorated Shed!
The Duck and the Decorated Shed!

I totally felt like a nerd, but whatever, LOLOLOL. I also looked at the other costumes in that post, but they definitely weren't as awesome as this. XP

  2. I was rereading that one Steve/Daria fic and it is still one of the greatest things ever, LOLOLOL. There should be, like, a million fics about Daria being her cynical self and Steve being his adorably dorky self and people being confused about their totally ridiculous yet charming relationship so that I can read it forever! XD

  3. Belated Project Runway reaction commentary: Anya winning? Totally obvious from the first episode. As for Viktor, he should have won since he was the most consistent designer this season, but I can understand why he didn't since he totally killed himself with those stupid sheer things. x_x I actually liked most of Kimberly's collection, so I was kinda annoyed that she was in the bottom. As for Josh, I pretty much hated almost everything in his collection besides the draped purple dress, so there was lots of rage that it was between him and Anya, but I'd rather have Anya win than him, so thank goodness for that! (But seriously, what the fuck were those green shorts he made at the last minute with the stupid lacing on the front? Because that was hideous and when it got all the praises from the judges, I just wanted to yell at them because EWWW!)

  4. In other news, I just watched last night's episode of Glee and, as usual, I was reminded that I still hate this show. (And yet, I still watch it -- UGH, WHY CAN'T I QUIT YOU?!) Anyway, Quinn setting up Shelby to try and get Beth back? NOT COOL! Santana and Mercedes being total bitches to Sugar Motta? NOT COOL! Finn being an asshole to Blaine? DEFINITELY NOT COOL! Also, WTF PUCK AND SHELBY, WHYYYYYY!

  1. Bookmarking! New Delicious is lame. Not that I've really been using Delicious much, but seriously, who revamps a site with the lost of all useful functionality? x_x Anyway, my Pinboard is here, if you are so inclined, and there is also The Great Delicious Migration spreadsheet, if you need to find people.

  2. Project Runway! Can I just say the past two episodes totally pissed me off with all the whining about not-model-sized models? Because seriously, none of the models were what you would even consider fat! But most especially Olivier's complaining -- his was the worst, OMG! I didn't know whether to laugh at him or be filled with rage, so it was basically a combination of both. When he was making his comment about boobs, I was totally going FUCK YOU in my mind. Let's not even talk about when he basically told the dude from the band that he was fat to his face. >O But yeah, all the designs from the last episode were horrible and the only redeeming value to the whole thing was Adam Lambert. Also, while I'm at it, the episode before, why the fuck did Josh win with his little black dress? I was so annoyed by that! Obviously Viktor should have won; his outfit was the cutest! I didn't even understand the judges comments about her being over-accessorized because the purse and sunglasses (which they were complaining about) are basically essentials! x_x Anywayz, I'm totally rooting for either Viktor or Anya to win.

  3. Glee! I'm pretty annoyed with Kurt right now. I mean, the scene with Kurt and Blaine in the coffee shop in the first episode was cute, but I didn't like how Kurt was trying to talk Blaine into transferring to McKinley. It just felt so manipulative and then Blaine actually did transfer and it just doesn't sit well with me that Blaine basically transfered schools to be with Kurt. I mean, I've always been against boyfriends/girlfriends deciding to go to the same college just to be together, so of course this mentality follows through for Blaine transferring just for Kurt. IDK, I was just really annoyed. =( At least there was Blaine and Santana dancing together, which made the Blaine/Santana BFF lover in me happy. XP Spoiler-cut for the second episode... )

  4. CDT! I am trying to study, but it's SO HARD! The internet is just so distracting, LOLOLOL. But seriously, I only have about 1.5 weeks left before I take the test and I basically have the entire book to read still. =( I suppose the only good thing I have going for me is that I finished reading the AIA A201 and that a big chunk of the test (from what I've read) comes from that document, so yay for that. But yeah, I'm trying to actually study instead of reading fic, so there probably won't be any fic recs coming until after I take the test.

  1. My cousin's wedding is tomorrow! The tea ceremony is at 7:30AM and she lives about 45 minutes away, so we have to wake up around 5AM to get ready and go -- SO EARLY! ;_; Anywayz, I'm wearing this black and white dress and it's kind of meeh because of the print, but I have very low standards when it comes to dresses. My dress-buying standards pretty much amount to if it fits, buy it because finding something that actually fits is already pretty ridiculous -- holding out for something that's also to my tastes would probably leave me with nothing! Someday, when I have money, I will be able to go and get things tailored and buying clothes will be a lot easier, but until then, I will just have to be content with the limited things I can find on the rack...

  2. Project Runway, what's up with all the freakin' group challenges?! Do we really need ANOTHER one next week? I mean, I know Lifetime likes their drama, but seriously, I'm tired of it! x_x Also, please kick out Bert already, he is super annoying.

  3. [personal profile] aznearthdragon got her diploma in the mail today! I have to say that her diploma looks SO much better than mine! Mine uses the stupid Diploma font for everything and it's so hard to read and I just don't like it. x_x

This week, in no particular order...

  • [personal profile] aznearthdragon and I took then LEED Green Associate exam today and we both passed! XD I got 185/200 -- I assume that means I got 15 wrong (?) which is pretty close to what I was expecting (counted five I didn't know and twelve I was unsure of), so YAY!

  • I got my diploma in the mail this week! I was going to scan it to stick in this post, but then I got lazy. XP But yeah, after I opened the envelope and saw my diploma, I was like, "Five years, and this is all I get to show for it?" -- I'm sure that's the typical reaction though, lol. In the words of one of my FB friends a few weeks ago (paraphrased): I wish we got job offer instead of a diploma after graduation. Life would be so much easier that way. (Which is to say, I'm still job hunting 'cause I, sadly, didn't get that one job I went to interview for. =/ )

  • Went to a screening of 30 Minutes or Less on Wednesday. I thought the movie was okay, but there were times where I was like, "Uhh, this part seems unnecessarily vulgar..." but yeah, maybe it's just me. Whatever, I only wanted to watch it for Jesse Eisenberg anyway. XP

  • Tried to go to a screening of The Help on Thursday, but sadly it was full and we were turned away. =(

  • Quick Project Runway ramble: I really liked the top two dresses this week, but I kind of thought the bird seed dress should have won over Olivier's. I mean, Olivier's looked good too, but the fit kind of sucked, especially the top. I do think that Olivier is kind of adorable though, lol. He just seems so nice and he has that cute accent! XP

So yesterday was a super long day filled with class all day and then a roommates dinner at my roommate's boyfriend's apartment (which definitely lasted was past dinner, obviously), so I didn't have much time to do much of anything. Anyway, here's a little catch up of yesterday's highlights!

  1. PROJECT RUNWAY
I feel like I am kind of rehashing my tweets on this, but whatever, this is my journal, I can do what I want!

So yesterday, my professor had to leave early in studio and then, of course, everyone who didn't leave was just sitting around chilling or whatever, so I was like, "Hey, need to catch up on Project Runway!" so I probably annoyed everyone who was still there (about half of the class, so maybe 6-8 people) by having my volume up and watching Project Runway because I didn't have my headphones with me. (Whatever, if they really minded, they would have told me to turn it down, right?! XP) So there I was watching and I swear some of the guys who were across the room from me were probably over there snickering at the crap I was watching because everytime I looked up at a super drama-filled part, they were, like, looking over at me and making faces, LOLOL. But yeah, especially at the whole Ivy VS Michael C. drama -- OMGGGG! It's like they're all in middle school with the bitchiness and Ivy going around to everyone and stirring up the fire! Get over it, Ivy! That challenge she was bitching about was, like, ten million years ago in reality TV time!

But besides that, let's talk about Heidi's personal line! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! Like, when Heidi brought out the models to show off the style of the line, I was SO DISGUSTED because WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! Everything in that line was HORRIBLE -- I would NOT spend ~$150 on anything in that line! And then when Heidi was in the workroom! She was such a bitch when she was talking to Mondo -- I mean, I didn't really like what Mondo was doing at that time, but still! There was probably a better way to handle that than the way that she did. -_-

Let's move on to the judging! How happy was I when Gretchen ended up in the bottom? SO FUCKING HAPPY! The only way I would have been happier is if she actually got kicked out -- seriously, WHY WON'T SHE GET KICKED OUT ALREADY?! I'm so sad that Christopher had to go because I really liked him! But his clothes were pretty bad... And then the top! Dude, Mondo should have won! I know there were a few weird things with his outfits that the judges pointed out (and I mostly agreed with), but I thought his stuff would have added so much to Heidi's lame-ass line! I mean, Andy's stuff was pretty awesome, but I just liked Mondo's outfits more.

So yeah, it was basically the end of the episode and my roommate was like, "Ready to go?" and then I was packing up my crap while she went to the restroom and I was waiting for the preview and then MY PROFESSOR CAME BACK! And, like, there were only two people in the room at the time and one of them was me and he probably only saw me at first and he was walking over to my desk because he WANTED TO TALK TO ME ABOUT VELLUM! AND THE PREVIEW WAS JUST ABOUT TO START! SERIOUSLY, I KID YOU NOT, WHAT IS MY LIFE?! (I had to pause and, like, unpack my sketchbook that I just put in my bag because I was about to leave! This is the kind of weird coincidence crap you see on TV that you don't expect to happen in RL, but of course it does!)

(I totally watched the preview after he was done talking to me and moved onto the other person in the room, LOLOLOLOL. XP)

  2. VELLUM
Obviously you knew this was coming, lol, because I just talked about how my professor came over to talk to me about Vellum. XP But yeah, I told him about my bookshelf maze idea and showed him one of the mazes I drew up that I was somewhat happy with and he actually likes the idea. (I mean, I really like the idea, but it's always nice when the professor actually agrees, you know?) Anyway, he didn't really say anything that was earth-shattering to me, lol, and all the comments he had basically it kind of boiled down to "refining the maze" so there wouldn't be as many problems with it, which, yeah, I already knew all the problems he brought up, LOL, so not really news. XP And then he also said, "What if you could move the pieces?!" and like, that was totally the idea I had last week when I was taking a shower and I thought, "OMG HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?!" and then I couldn't really figure out how I would actually do something like that, so I kind of just put that thought to the side. Anyway, he was like, "Think about it" so I guess I will, but it seems like, even if I do figure it out, it will probably be overly complicated to build (at least to me) and I probably wouldn't be able to do it right in the short amount of time we have left, lol.

But yeah, thanks to the people who voted yesterday on my last Vellum post! ♥ You guys are awesome! XD I will probably try to work a little on Vellum this weekend, but it's more likely that I'll be focusing on figuring out what to do for the Abstract Show on Wednesday instead and pushing Vellum stuff off until after Wednesday, LOL.

Now I am going to continue procrastinating for the next hour and read some more from [livejournal.com profile] bookshop's awesome fluff fest post (SO MANY PAGES OF AWESOME AND I AM ONLY ON PAGE FOUR!) before I start cracking down on doing homework-type stuff. XP

  • Ugh, Gretchen! "I need to focus on meee!" — Bitch, you're always focusing on yourself! #ProjectRunway #
  • WHOAAAA, IVY, SO BITTER!! #ProjectRunway #
  • OMG SO MUCH DRAMAAA! #ProjectRunway #
  • OMFG GRETCHEN, why do you always have to go and say something?! Esp. when it's unnecessary! #ProjectRunway #
  • SHUT UP GRETCHEN, SHUT UP! #ProjectRunway #
  • I actually really like Mondo's looks. #ProjectRunway #
  • April's looks are okay, but they're not that great… #ProjectRunway #
  • Andy's stuff looks pretty good too — very comfortable-looking, lol. #ProjectRunway #
  • Michael's looks are pretty good, lol, but I agree that the styling is too "fancy". #ProjectRunway #
  • Christopher's stuff — kinda meeh except the first look is okay. #ProjectRunway #
  • Ugh Gretchen, that second look with that shirt that is not fitted is absolutely HORRIBLE! #ProjectRunway #
  • It doesn't look easy at all, Gretchen! And those biker shorts — EWWW! #ProjectRunway #
  • Please GTFO Gretchen! (But I really think it will be Christopher. =/ ) #ProjectRunway #
  • I really like Mondo's — I hope he wins! But it sounds like it will be Andy who wins… #ProjectRunway #
  • Gretchen, your ego is SO BIG! KICK HER OUTTTT! #ProjectRunway #
  • Mondo's was better, IMO. But whatever, Heidi's line was so horrible that Andy's stuff raises the line's level SO MUCH. #ProjectRunway #

  1. Morning Thesis Class, or How Inception just incepts its way into RL. XP
Today is Friday and I'm sure we all know what I think about Fridays! But yeah, today the class met downtown at a cafe this morning, I suppose to break the monotony of nine straight hours sitting around in studio. Anyway, once everyone got there, Killing broke us up into groups of three, matching us up by our project types, lol. Honestly, once he started calling the groups, I just knew who my group was going to be (Nathan and Blake) and lo and behold, when he finally got around to naming the last group, it was Nathan, Blake, and me! It's kind of funny because I just asked Nathan yesterday what he was doing for his thesis and I sit across from Blake, so we just talked about his stuff on Wednesday, so yeah, there was absolutely no surprise to me, LOL. And, of course, both of them knew what my project was (airport), but they hadn't talked to each other, so it was SUPER FUNNY when we started talking.

Blake went first and he was talking about downtown Fresno and then he started talking about the high speed rail and Nathan was totally getting this look on his face, LOL, and then Blake was getting to the part where he was like, saying he wanted to design a station or whatever, and Nathan seriously interrupted him and was all, "I will cut you if you say 'transportation hub'!" or something to that effect and I was LOLing SO MUCH, seriously! Because Nathan is ALSO doing a transportation hub that also involves the high speed rail, though his is down in Riverside. But yeah, essentially the same idea and it was just hilarious. XP (I fear I left Blake to go in that direction because last week I was all like, "Maybe I'll do an airport!" and Blake was like, "OMG WHAT!" because he was thinking that too and I was like, "NoOoOo!~ You can't! We sit across from each other!~" and D-facing at him, LOLOL.)

Anyway, so we were kind of brainstorming about Blake's project and trying to come up with ways to make his project more of a destination and stuff like that and Nathan was totally coming up with all these ideas and then he would realize he liked those ideas and be like, "Ohz noz! I want to do that in my project!" and I love my group, really. It was so entertaining. XD Anyway, somehow wine tasting came up and then Nathan came up with this brilliant idea and was all like, "Oh hey! You should make a wine gallery!" and "Is that even a thing? A wine gallery?" and "OMG, that would be so awesome!" and he was so enamored with that wine gallery idea that he was all, "I take it back! I want to have a wine gallery!~"

And somehow all of this lead to Nathan saying that Blake was incepted! Because obviously the whole transportation hub was Nathan's idea and he also gave him the awesome wine gallery idea and "Obviously we had to go down five levels to plant it because it is just that awesome" and "[Remula] was my architect! She did such a good job with all the details, you didn't even know it was a dream!" and seriously, I was DYING from this whole conversation, LOLOLOL! It's A+++ conversations like this make early morning classes on Fridays bearable. XP

Anyway, we also talked about my project (I won't go into more detail because this section is getting long, lol, but I feel like it's slowly coming together pretty well!) and Nathan's project, quickly figured out our presenting logistics, then split for the morning.

  2. Studio and Even MORE Thesis Stuff
After splitting with my group, I went over to join Tara's group since they were still talking and Tara was my ride, lol. After they finished up, her group and I decided to go get lunch because we were hungry, so we went to Chipotle and yeah. Her groupmates were also awesome -- I'm seriously so happy with my studio, guys. Pretty much everyone is awesome. XP

Anyway, we had presentations all afternoon, basically going through everyone's thesis project ideas. The catch was that we had to each present someone else's project and then discuss the similarities and differences between our projects in our group. Although it was pretty long (as presentations tend to be), it was cool hearing about everyone's thesis ideas because we're pretty much all over the place in our studio. I mean, there's so many different project types and scales, from residences to community centers to skyscrapers and transportation hubs. Smallest scale is probably the person doing emergency disaster shelters and the largest scale is definitely my airport development. @_@

I would just like to take the time to thank myself for choosing such an intense project -- really, self, it's like I want to torture myself with how much work this will be! (But really, I'm pretty excited for my project! Just the overall scale and scope of my project though, IT'S SO DAUNTING!) DDD:

And now, for something completely different...

  3. Project Runway!
    You know I have to do this because there's no one here for me to talk to about this show! Anyway, this episode! It was sweet but super dramatic! Like, I was sitting in my living room watching and my roommates were sitting across the room on the floor and about half way through the first half, one of my roommates was all like, "What is this? Are you watching a drama or a show? Because I thought you said you were watching Project Runway!" But yeah, Christopher and his partner -- they are such a cute couple, LOL. But OMG MONDOOOO! Seriously, he broke my heart! I can't even imagine what he had to go through and then having to keeping everything secret for so long! And when he said that he didn't want to tell his mom because he didn't want to ruin the moment for his mom -- OMG! ;_;

I will now go through my opinion on everyone's outfits because the judges did this week! )

There is actually a bonfire going on tonight (right now!) with a bunch of architecture people, but I decided on not going because I'm lazy and I seriously need a Friday off, lol. Am I lame? A little. Do I regret not going? Not really, LOL. I'd rather sit around catching up on my two TV shows and reading fic anyway, haha. (Oh man, I don't think I've read anything today! This is a travesty and should be remedied immediately!)

  1. We finished doing presentations this morning in studio. I feel like I didn't really talk that long, but I tried to talk pretty slow so it could seem like I said more than I did, HAHAH. Anyway, the feedback that I got was along the lines of I need to choose between the presence of structure or the absence of structure for my thesis project, lol. I'm pretty sure I'm leaning more towards the presence of structure because I like it more when the structure is expressed clearly. I mean, having big cantilevers and stuff that looks gravity-defying is all well and good, but I dunno.. I kind of feel like I don't want to head in that direction. Some people also said that the projects I showed all have one big/grand gesture and maybe I can play off that in my design. We'll see, lol.

  2. We also talked about our field trip in studio today! We basically narrowed it down to either:

    • New York
    • Chicago
    • Vancouver/Seattle/Portland
    • New Orleans

After that we were in groups doing some research about prices and things to do and stuff like that so we could figure out overall cost and we're going to vote on it on Monday. I haven't looked at all the spreadsheets yet that each group did, but I was in the NY group so right now, I'm more inclined to go to NY, lol. But yeah, all of the places sound pretty good, so I would be fine with wherever we're going regardless. The only thing I kind of don't like is the Vancouver/Seattle/Portland trip we would be spending time on the on the train traveling between them all three places, lol. But yeah, I'm a little sad that we're not going out of the country, but I guess that was to be expected because it'd probably be twice as expensive. (Right now all four options are about $800-ish.)

  3. Just a short little rant thing about Project Runway since I just watched this week's episode... WTF IS GRETCHEN DOING IN THE TOP?! Like, seriously, what did Gretchen do to get the judges to like her so damn much?! Because those dresses were horrible! The high fashion one, OMFG, WTF WERE THOSE FEATHERS?! When Michael Kors said he liked the feathering, I got so annoyed because I thought the feathering was the absolute WORST part! It looked like some bird molted on the dress!~ And also, her ready to wear look was so old! And then when Grethen was all like OMG HOT about her second dress and then she said, "Holla!" I just about DIED from secondhand embarrassment! THAT WAS HORRIBLE AND AWKWARD AND JUST NO, DON'T TALK LIKE THAT! She can't pull off saying that!

But yeah, OMG Mondo!~ ♥♥♥ He is just so adorable and I love him and I love that he won, even though I kinda liked Andy's looks better, lol. XP And gosh, the Valerie VS Ivy thing! I love some of Valerie's earlier stuff and I pretty much think Ivy is a bitch, but I have to say that I was a little upset that Ivy got kicked off 'cause I didn't think she deserved it. Valerie's stuff this week was horrible and if we're just judging from this week, she deserved to go. (Well, okay, Gretchen actually deserves to go the most because her dresses = EWW, but for some reason she wasn't on the bottom!)

  4. Lastly, OMG my brother made a FB account today! That is so weird and awkward because he doesn't really have anything and now he has FB! Not that I have anything incriminating on my FB, but just seeing him there is weird, haha. Also, I'm not used to interacting with him online in such a public forum -- like, my only online interaction with him is through IM and you know, when I'm IMing [personal profile] aznearthdragon or my brother, I'm always typing super ridiculous because we're family and we understand our shared weirdness, lol, but I saw someone write on his wall and him respond and it was just weird. Like, I've never seen him type that way or interact with his friends before! I will pretty much be shocked about this for a long while before it processes in my mind, lol.

I'm so tired from this long day...
