Here are my thoughts on the ending, since I didn't finish the book last night.. Just finished it this morning...
Well... Dumbledore died.. Can't say I didn't see it, but still.. I feel kinda cheated. His death was so anti-climatic... It was like.. way too easy... So simple.. I dunno...
And how it was Snape that killed him... I still say he's good. I mean, in the end of the book, everyone who trusted him.. All the Order.. They discredited him so easily! Harry has been ragging on Snape since the first time they laid eyes on each other and everyone still trusted him, just because Dumbledore says so.. And now that Dumbledore's dead, they all just trust Harry's judgment on Snape? Even if Snape did the deed and everything.. Shouldn't they trust that there was a reason for it?
I'm sorry, but that's one of the things that really pisses me off about the end of this book... Everyone's ragging on Snape. I mean.. I know I didn't like him all that much in the beginning, but I learned to trust him and everything, and I don't believe he's on the bad side. I mean, his role was a spy on both sides, but I still firmly maintain the belief that Snape is with the right side.
I think that Dumbledore knew all along he was gonna be killed by Snape.. I'd probably have to re-read the book to see if all the signs point that way or not though.. Regardless, I think he knew about the Unbreakable Vow that Snape made with Narcissa and I think that Dumbledore knew that Draco wouldn't be able to do it, so Snape would be the one who would have to do the deed 'cause he made the vow.
What really pisses me off is how quick Harry is to lay the blame on Snape. Why can't Harry see the redeeming values in Snape? He didn't even try to see all that Snape did to help him out. Even in the end, when Harry was dueling with Snape, Snape didn't attack him, and when the other Death Eater attacked Harry, Snape saved him, but all Harry could think of was that it was Snape torturing him. That really pissed me off. And how everyone just jumped on his bandwagon once they knew Dumbledore was gone.
Anyways.. Moving on from how much Harry is an ass and how Snape is good...
Harry and Ginny... I died when I saw that. x_x Good thing there wasn't that much of that in the book, and they broke it off in the end, so I'm okay.
Draco.. I think he's gonna go good. There is hope for him yet... Makes my heart flutter with joy. I think this because Snape is good in my eyes and since Draco went with him.. Snape will persuade him to the right side. Too bad everyone else thinks Snape is an untrustworthy ball of slime. x_x Damn bastards.. They'll get what's coming to them! The people who are wrong are always hard to forgive.. and I hope Snape doesn't forgive them, even if they're working on the same side. I still haven't forgiven Percy for being an ass, and I don't think I will.
As for RAB... I dunno who it might be. The people Hermione named are out, of course, 'cause she said they didn't know Voldemont or whatever... The only person I can think of is Regulus Black. I dunno what his middle name would be, so.. I dunno.. I guess we'll see in the last book.
Snape as the Half-Blood Prince... Did I say that as one of my guesses in my last post? I think I did.. Hahah. I kinda expected it. XP I mean, he IS good with Potions, and we knew he was into the Dark Arts... XP But at least we know some more about Snape's past now... Well, at least a bit about his parents... And about him from how he wrote in the book.
Remus and Tonks... ;_; I didn't want to see it, but I guess.. At least it's not too bad... =/
Last thing I want to say is.. This is probably my favorite Harry Potter book now. XP Even with a lot of things I don't like.. It still has enough to redeem itself in my eyes. XD
