Unit Inspection -- Expect Ranting
Jan. 10th, 2006 09:57 pmMORNING / BRIEFING
Today was inspection day. @_@ Yeah. Got up at 5:00 ((too freakin' early!)) and got to school at about 6:11 ((WAY too early!)). First one there, as always. Somehow I find it sad that none of the other staff members are there before I am.. EVER. x_x Oh wellz.. Gary, Martinez, and Eric weren't late, but everyone else was and yes, I was keeping track.
Around 6:30-ish, went and changed into my uniform and then got the Battalion Notebook and went to the classroom with everyone else. Didn't really practice 'cause we didn't have that much time.. BLAH! Finally, at 7:00 they got to the classroom and we started.
The briefing went pretty well. Eric was first, of course, and he was pretty good, I guess. They asked him three questions: Did he surpass his brother ('cause he said in his briefing that he joined because he wanted to surpass his brother), what he thought about the ribbons and medals (when he answered, he like repeated himself about three times to say the same thing. x_x), and what his handicap was (golf, hahhaah! Col. totally asked him that in one of our practices and he didn't know and was suppose to find out, but yeah.. He didn't..). When they asked about the handicap, I was thinking, 'WTF is he talking about? @_@' lol, but yeah.. I realized a few seconds later. XP
Next was Teng. His was okay.. He forgot to press his slide for each bullet to come up until almost the end. His questions were okay.. Hard-ish in the fact that one was what was the hardest part of his job. He basically mentioned everything, it seemed.
bobbleheadvi's presentation was pretty good.. He had his army men set up as a demonstration of a phase of his NCO Board. They just asked about the spacing of things 'cause he said he required the people going up to explain where the men go and the set up and stuf. Then one of the inspectors asked why he had first squad with automatics and he was like, "I don't have any army men that are in the position of attention, sir" and everyone started laughing, lol. XP
S-1 was good, as usual. His answer to the population trends was kinda off, but yeah. S-2 was good too. I don't think he got any questions, unless I forgot or something.
As for me.. I think I did okay. I didn't forget to say anything, but I was pretty scared, hahaha. At the end, I only got two questions: What time does the flag go up and if ROTC is the only one responsible for getting it up, and, of course, I answered the questions with ease. I thought I'd get harder questions than that, but I didn't, thank goodness.
Leticia messed up a bit, 'cause she skipped some of her stuff in the beginning. She sounded pretty nervous. I don't think she got asked that many questions though, so that's good.
As for Gary.. Lemme just say... ARGH! That expresses my displeasure immensely. I mean, sure, he can say whatever he wants about his other jobs, but at the end of his briefing, when it was time to talk about the website.. OMG ANGER! >O
First of all, he didn't credit me. Lemme repeat again. He DIDN'T credit me. I feel like the point hasn't come across and I was hella pissed, so I must say it at least once more.. HE DIDN'T CREDIT ME! WTF is that?! I made the website for the battalion. I made it so his ass wouldn't look stupid 'cause he didn't do his job and so we wouldn't lose points for not having a site. But I clearly remember each word said about the site and no where in there did he even MENTION that I made it. Such anger cannot be expressed. >O
And when he clicked up the site.. He didn't even know how to navigate it! WTF is that! It's obvious already that it wasn't his 'cause he didn't know how to get to different pages. It's not like the navigation it hard. Why else would there be a yellow bar with weird words like, "Home~Updates~Battalion~Media~Misc~Site~Contact" if not for navigation. I mean, I'm sorry if it's that hard to comprehend, but the other people who have visited didn't have as much trouble as him. x_x He was all talking about a visual chain of command and all this other junk, and it's like, WTF man! You don't even know where the CoC is located on the site?! ARGH! I'm sorry that I'm cool and updated last night. Excuse me for changing the update paragraph on the home page. Geez!
But yeah.. He said in the end that there were some technical difficulties, but really, he just can't operate a site. I swear.. It can't be that hard to comprehend what are links. On the page, all the yellow stuff are links. It makes sense that the bar of yellow words are OMG, LINKS! x_x
And like, on the page, he scrolled down, right? And like, RIGHT BEFORE HE HIT THE END OF THE PAGE, he stopped and scrolled back up to the top. Why did he do such a thing, you ask? Because, if you looked at the site ((unKnown Soldiers)), you would see that at the bottom of every page, I wrote a copyright thing which CLEARLY states MY NAME in YELLOW, and I'm sure that it would stand out in the paragraph. The point of this paragraph? He didn't want credit to be given to me. He didn't credit me before he clicked the link, he wouldn't give me visual credit by scrolling all the way down, and he didn't credit me anywhere else in his briefing either. I don't know about you, but I call that plagiarism -- leading others to believe created something belonging to another.
His question was why the site was named "unKnown Soldiers" and his answer pissed me off. He said something along the lines of it being an ADT phrase and it was catchy, so we used it. I don't know where the fuck he got "we" from, when he was obviously trying to discredit me the whole way through. I also dislike this explaination because it says that I jacked it from ADT. That I deliberately took something that belonged to ADT and used it in my gain. I refuse to believe I did something like that because I didn't. I said on my (yes, MY!) website that I did NOT rip the name from ADT and I didn't. Yes, the phrase was theirs first, but words are words and ADT does NOT own them and I know for a fact that it had to originate somewhere else first before ADT used it. The words aren't trademarked and I don't appreciate being called a stealer.
After Gary (that bastard), Eric went back up and concluded, then the SDSU peoplez gave us feedback on the briefing. They said a lot, but, of course one of the points I remember is the mention of the website, because hey, I did make it, so I would like to hear feedback, albeit the shortness. Col. Rideout said it was nice and all that and talked about how people visiting websites will get more interested, etc. and finally, FINALLY, Gary said that I "HELPED" him with it. HELPED! HELPED!!~ WTF is that?! I didn't help, I MADE it. I did all the work BY.MY.SELF. No help whatsoever from him, so I don't see why he would say such an insulting thing. >O
Like I said just now to
bobbleheadvi
Remula Wazokana (9:32:32 PM): but this is plagiarism
Remula Wazokana (9:32:34 PM): well
Remula Wazokana (9:32:36 PM): it was
Remula Wazokana (9:32:37 PM): well
Remula Wazokana (9:32:38 PM): still is
Remula Wazokana (9:33:06 PM): definition:
1. A piece of writing that has been copied from someone else and is presented as being your own work.
2. The act of plagiarizing; taking someone's words or ideas as if they were your own.
Remula Wazokana (9:33:18 PM): my words
Remula Wazokana (9:33:19 PM): my work
Remula Wazokana (9:33:24 PM): my fuckin' time
Remula Wazokana (9:33:33 PM): and he tried to pull it off as his
Remula Wazokana (9:33:35 PM): wtf is that
Remula Wazokana (9:33:39 PM): at the end, the credit came
Remula Wazokana (9:33:48 PM): at the end, when the briefing was over
Remula Wazokana (9:33:52 PM): at the end he says
Remula Wazokana (9:33:57 PM): "i had help from the s-3"
Remula Wazokana (9:34:00 PM): i'm sorry, but no
Remula Wazokana (9:34:06 PM): unacceptable
Remula Wazokana (9:34:11 PM): help?
Remula Wazokana (9:34:28 PM): i was under the impression that help meant the other party actually contributed
Remula Wazokana (9:34:30 PM): hmm..
BoBbleHeAd VI (9:34:42 PM): mmm
Remula Wazokana (9:34:44 PM): maybe i misinterpreted the words
Remula Wazokana (9:34:46 PM): must be
Remula Wazokana (9:34:55 PM): why else would he say such an insulting thing
Remula Wazokana (9:34:55 PM): ?
Remula Wazokana (9:35:07 PM): >O
But yes, that's so rude, to discredit me in such a fashion. Who does that? How can he? It's not right and he's lucky I didn't yell at him afterwards. >O
Moving on..
FIRST PERIOD
After the briefing, ate a little, then just hung around in the office and watched Bravo with all the other staff.. Blah, boring. Cooper said ther were 51 starrs on the flag. WTF is that? He also stood on the WRONG SIDE during the inspection when they started inspecting second squad. He's suppose to be on the left of the inspector, Panyia on the right, but he stopped next to Panyia and was on that side the rest of the time! WTF is that?! x_x Panyia also forgot Open Ranks.. BLAH! Their drilling was okay, I guess.. Not great, not bad.
SECOND PERIOD
Went with
bobbleheadvi to Construction and got my pass signed and went back to RO where I helped
bobbleheadvi study for math and did nothing. Blah, blah..
LUNCH
Meeting.. took notes.. Bleh.
AP CALCULUS
Math test. I did okay, I guess.. Kinda bad. I sucked.. *sigh* Don't wanna think about it 'cause I don't think I'll get that great a score. I know for sure I messed up on one problem. I didn't know another. Didn't show work for one. For the properties problem, I think I did it wrong. And yeah.. BLAH!
ADVISORY
Had to go to Mr. Riego's class. EWW! Tran talked to us. Gave us some scholarship papers.. Yeah.. That's about it.
ROTC
Took roll, then went and hung in the range where we talked about the math test and did nothing.. BLAH!
I must add donut stealing because
bobbleheadvi told me to. So yeah, that dork
bobbleheadvi took the last glazed donut and it was suppose to be mine! >O But I got it from him, mwhahahahhaha! XP And he got the other weird donut. XP
AFTER SCHOOL
Did a short-ish reflection thingy, then Col. came and talked to me, Leticia, and Eric about today. BLEH! Afterwards, changed and went out and practiced a bit.
Anyways, back to the Gary thing. He better get demoted to 2LT like we all agreed 'cause he didn't have a website. At this point, I don't even care if he's demoted or not! He just needs to be kicked off staff 'cause he's holding us back. I don't think I like the idea of him USING MY WORK as his. I won't stand for not being credited. I give credit where credit is due. He obviously doesn't believe in such morals. I can't work with someone willing to steal my work as theirs. I can't work with someone who needs others to help him do a job he himself wanted. Sandy did the board for him. I made the website. In the beginning of the year, he wanted Sandy to help with the scrapbook too! And yes, I remember for sure that was what was said. >O Unacceptable! S-5 was suppose to be MINE. I still can't believe I was passed up for THAT. I'm sorry, but no. There's no excuse... >O
Whatever.. can't think anymore. ARGH! >O He must be kicked, damnit! I won't stand for this! Something must happen! I do NOT condone plagiarism. There is no reason he couldn't have said, "The S-3 made the website". There is no reason he couldn't have mentioned me in his briefing. There is no reason he couldn't give credit to the person who worked her ass off and wasted my weekend on something he should have done from the beginning of the year. I'm sorry, but no. If I was S-5, the website would be up and running before school came back. The first Khronicle would have been out within the first two weeks of school. There would be a Khronicle every month. There would be content. There would be everything and more because I would have been there and I would have done it. But instead.. I don't even need to explain. Needless to say, if SOMETHING doesn't happen by the end of this week, I WILL do something. What? I don't know. If Teng and Eric don't do something, I will bring it up. I will keep bringing it up. That was the last straw. Recognition should be given when it is due, no excuses, even if it DOES make him look bad. >O
I'm tired of typing now.
