Drive Your Future Scholarship
Amount: $2500
Due Date: February 10, 2006
Description: The Mercedes-Benz USA Drive Your Future Scholarship is available to high school seniors who plan to continue their education in a full-time college or vocational school program. You must be the first generation in your family to attend college and have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award.
Status: Applied (February 05, 2006), Pending
Notes: Only students identified as finalists will be sent notification letters by the end of March. These finalists will be required to mail additional documentation to substantiate information reported on their application.

UC Berkeley Alumni Leadership Scholarship
Amount: $1500-$2500
Due Date: February 13, 2006
Description: $1500-$2500 per year; renewable by application; entering first-year and advance standing (transfer) students, continuing students; merit-only with consideration of leadership activities.
Status: Applied (February 12, 2006), Pending
Notes: Freshman Semifinalists will be notified by email in the first week of April if they have advanced. Finalists will be invited to interview with a UC Berkeley alumni representative later that month. Awardees and Alternates will be notified by email and telephone by April 25, 2006.

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF)
Amount: $2000
Due Date: February 15, 2006
Description: The American and Pacific Islander Scholarship Fund (APIASF) Scholarship is available to first-time incoming college students of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity. To be eligible for this award, you must enroll full time at a two- or four-year college or university, be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, permanent resident or citizen of the Freely Associated States, and have a minimum 2.7 GPA. Applications will be evaluated base on the following: academic plans and career goals, academic record, community service, essay, financial need and letter of recommendation

Ford Salute to Education Scholarship
Amount: $1000
Due Date: February 17, 2006
Description: The Ford Salute to Education Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are residents of San Diego County. You must attend a high school in San Diego County to be eligible. Scholarships are judged in the following areas: arts, athletics, automotive, foreign language, general, language arts, mathematics, performing arts, science, social science, and vocational/technical. One scholarship recipient will also receive a new Ford vehicle.

Mortar Board STRIVE Scholarship

Description: Given to one or more graduating seniors from the Kearny High Edcational Complex. Money should be used to assist the student in purchase of course books during first year of college.

San Diego Chinese Women's Association
Amount: $1000
Due Date: March 15, 2006
Description: Cinese ancestry; 3.0+ GPA; essay; school activities; letter of recommendation.
Status: Need to Apply
Notes: In June 2006, scholarships will be awarded to selected outstanding graduating seniors of Chinese descent who are attending high school in San Diego County.

KFC Colonel's Scholar Program
Amount: $5000
Due Date: March 31, 2006
Description: Graduating from high school this academic year (between 12/1/05 and 8/31/06); Maintaining a high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher; Planning to attend a public, in-state college or university; Pursuing a bachelor's degree; A U.S. citizen or permanent resident; renewable.
Status: Applying
Notes:Semifinalists will be asked to provide additional documentation in the month of April 2006. After the semifinalist information is received, an independent selection committee will meet to select the KFC Colonel's Scholars. The 2006 KFC Colonel's Scholars will be announced by June 2006.
For Renewal: Carry a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester; Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75; Beginning in 2nd year of scholarship, must work an average of 10 hours per week in an approved position.

Today...

MORNING
Worked a bit on math homework while we talked to Yann and Gunar about Cadet Ball and stuff..


ROTC
Went over the stuff on the board.. SGM talked a lot so it took a while.. Then squad leaders were suppose to do some counseling of their squads.. I dunno what exactly that entails, but whatever.. After about 15 minutes working on that, went out and drilled in squads. My company is.. okay, I guess. Bearing / attention need work. Lots of fidgeting and looking around / down. x_x BLEH!


GOVERNMENT
Took our test on the legislative branch.. Then after that, we were suppose to watch some movie clip about filibuster or something, but the teacher misplaced it. Peoplez were trying to help her look, but after about 15 minutes of fruitless searching, they gave up and about 30% of the class left for "robotics club", if in fact, that was what they were doing ((I highly doubt that, but whatever)), and the rest of the class, excluding me and Selassie, were playing some game called Cranium or whatever.. Me and Selassie just watched.. It was pretty boring 'cause like.. on their little card guess things, like the celebrities or songs they had to act like or hum or whatever, most of them didn't know it so they had to skip a million times, lol.


LUNCH
Meeting.. Boring, boring..


AP CALCULUS
Went over slope fields and then had time to work on our homework on slope fields.. Finished and also did some more of the green packet questions. XP I'll be caught up yet!


ART
Had time to read, but didn't have a book.. Then later did nothing in class.. Near the last half hour, went on the computers and just read some fics.. BLAH!


AFTER SCHOOL
aznearthdragon had to work on her project, everyone else was at YPF so there were only a few of us for Unarmed. x_x Just practiced a bit.. Got up to the heart and then just let them leave..


Need to do my scholarships, damnit! But I'm so lazy! ;_; Need to also do my senior portfolio! x_x *sigh* Anywayz.. Yeah.. Tomorrow I need to go talk to Mr. Tran to get two official copies of my transcript. x_x I feel kinda bad ((even though I hate talking to Mr. Tran)) 'cause I'm always bugging him for transcripts and stuff. I know he's busy with a lot of stuff, but hey, he's the only counselor in CTA, so.. What can you do? x_x Oh wellz..


NOTE TO SELF: WEAR (OR AT LEAST BRING) CLASS 'A' JACKET TOMORROW TO GIVE UNIFORM WEAR CLASS IN BRAVO! Darn people.. don't even tell me until last minute that I'm suppose to give a uniform wear class.. All the other company commanders knew, but somehow I'm left uninformed! What's that about?! >O BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!~ Oh wellz.. *sigh*
