ARCH 451 Site Visit
Oct. 2nd, 2009 09:02 pmFor those who don't know, I'm in the design-build studio this quarter, which is an integrated studio with architecture, architectural engineering, construction management, and landscape architecture students. Obviously, our project is group-based since it's integrated, and we're working on a real project. This quarter, our project is the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens.
Today, we went on a site visit of the botanical gardens. We went on a walk around the site, but we were restricted to not speaking. It was pretty nice out there, if a little hot. Lots of potential, but right now, it's mostly weeds and super tall (dried) grass -- yuck. My legs still feel itchy from all the ones that poked through my jeans. =/ But yeah, it's super noisy out in front, since it's right along Highway 1. A walking trail in the back led up to the top of the site, and at the top, there's an amazing view of the mountains, the golf course, and all the other stuff around there.
