I just want you to know that it is currently 1:30AM and there is less than 12 hours until I have to present and I still feel like I have absolutely nothing. I am currently sitting in studio and the only other people in here are the people who are presenting later today. At least we are all feeling the stress, right? Except I am first, so it's even worse. =/ I really need some good luck for whoever comes to my crit. Like, seriously, I had the worst crit last quarter and I don't know if I can handle a really brutal crit right now. =(((

I don't know if I can talk for ten minutes for my presentation. I mean, logically I know that I probably have at least ten minutes worth of information, but I'm one of those people who like to keep things short and to the point (primarily because I am so not a public speaker). In theory, short and sweet is a good idea, but in practice, it just seems like I didn't do anything. =/

In other news, my roommate is due back in 1.5 hours and she said she would be pulling an all-nighter. If she decides to work at home, I might go home and join her since I'm pretty much back at doing computer stuff (I don't feel like working on my models anymore).

I can't wait to sleep later tonight after studio. It will be glorious.

So today was kind of a bad day, LOL. I mean, I finally went home around 7:30AM because I wanted to shower and get ready for class. So I go home, I do the dishes, and I shower, then I had the bright idea of taking a nap! YOU ALL KNOW WHERE THIS STORY IS GOING.

I get into bed at 8:45AM and I set two alarms, thinking I'll get up at 9:30AM at the latest since I have class at 10AM. I guess I turned it off or something because I didn't wake up until 12:58PM when my roommate called me and I was suppose to present at 1:15. I basically jumped out of bed, threw on some clothes, grabbed my backpack, and was out the door in two minutes. I practically ran to the MRC because I had to print still and the plotter did not like me one bit. First it was out of paper, so the girl had to reload it. Then it hated my PDF file and kept saying it was processing. Then they converted my file into a Photoshop file and it made it all pixelated and it STILL didn't want to print! Then finally they switched to the other plotter, meaning I they had to switch paper in that plotter and finally it took my file. By the time I finished printing, it was, like, 2:15. x_x

Moral of that story: print before going home to shower and possibly nap. -_-

By the time I got to the room where our crits were, I was totally over the whole thing. I mean, seriously, what is life? But yeah, the professor ended up telling me I would take someone else's spot since they went early and so I didn't have to present until 4:15. Only Illingsworth was there for my crit and I was all flustered because I forgot my notes at home and he kept asking questions as I talked, so I would lose track of what I wanted to say. -_- But yeah, basically they told me to reconsider my building layout which I kind of expected based on the site plan I had, considering I took over all of the adjacent site next to my airport. All things considered, it wasn't a horrible crit, but I totally agree with what someone else in studio said: we should have had this a quarter and a half ago, because this quarter is suppose to be about production and not making major changes, but all the crits we got were along the lines of, "You should consider this!" and "Why didn't you do this!" x_x

Anyway, my second wind is drawing to a close now. Tara's parents are here and they took us grocery shopping earlier when we got home and they made us dinner and now that I've eaten, I can feel the tiredness overwhelm me.

Goodnight people! Thanks for all the well wishes in my last couple of posts about this, lol. =)

  • I'm presenting in 13 hours. ;____; And with my luck, I will have a super mean professor at my crit and it will be brutal. =((( #
  • (F'reals, everyone in studio tonight mentioned my fall qtr crit b/c it was probably the most brutal of everyone.) #
  • I wish I took off my contacts before coming to studio… =/ #
  • "I want to go home! My pillow is lonely!" — Someone in studio. I think my pillow is lonely as well! =( #
  • So one of my classmates started w/ a motivational speech abt how we know more than the audience and we get to decide what they get to know. #
  • Then somehow it degenerated to "They make us think we need to be workaholics, but it's a lie! There's more to life than architecture!" #
  • It's so cold in studio. I wish I had more clothes. =/ #
  • It's 7:03AM and I'm exhausted and still haven't planned out what I'm going to say. =( #
  • I think it's time to go home and shower before coming back to campus to print… #
  • 15 minute nap, then I need to head back to campus for printing and class. #
  • OMFG WHAT IS MY LIFE I JUST WOKE UP AND I AM PRESENTING IN TENN MIN AND I DIDN'T PRINT YET . #
  • Omg the printer hates me! ;__; #
  • I hate life right now. #
  • Seriously, why does the printer hate me?! #
  • I'm so over this. Now I've been switched to presenting at 4:15 and I don't even care how it goes. #
  • I'm getting tired again! I wish I could just go and get it over with. :/ #
  • I think my crit went as well as it could have gone. At least it's over. #
  • Time to go home! #
  • Grocery shopping w/ Tara and her parents, then some sleep! #
  • Tara's parents are making us dinner. :) Gonna nap while they cook. :P #
  • Okay, didn't have time to nap earlier, but now I'm fed and I will probably sleep sometime soon! #
