Hmm.. Maybe that's true for the people you know, but from my experience, they're usually saying it to compensate for their lack of top marks. And, obviously, this refers to more than just architecture students -- the people who say "D's get degrees" are everywhere, and they're usually saying it because they're gotten some of those D's in order to get their degrees. XP Don't get me wrong, I've said it before too, and it's usually in reference to some poor marks I've gotten, so I know what I'm talking about.
