remulaToday was a LONG day! I basically spent most of it in studio making almost no progress at all. It's kind of sad. =/ Anyway, that stupid doweling jig I bought yesterday was a total dud, which I could kind of already tell just from looking at it, but yeah. It was obviously made for a minimum of 3/4" thickness and my pieces are only 1/2" thick, so the holes weren't centering at all -- so annoying! Luckily Teresa called me right after I made this revelation to ask me if I knew where another hardware store was besides Home Depot, so I went with her to go to Minor's where she bought resin and I got another doweling jig. The jig was freakin' $43. ;_; (SO ANNOYING BECAUSE ONLY $30 AT AMAZON!) Anyway, there was only of the one I chose there and when I opened it, the jig was obviously used because it was all dirty. x_x I got it anyway since the other style jig there didn't seem like it would work as well -- IDK, if I don't damage it and can clean it up well, I'll probably just return it after I'm done since I don't ever foresee me needing it in the future, lol.
After obtaining my new jig, I basically spent forever setting stuff up and then messing up on my first attempts. =( I now have four pieces I need to re-cut on Monday because I fail so hard. I finally got the hang of it after that, but I don't really have much progress. It's kind of annoying because I keep having to test out if the holes are deep enough and of course the pieces get stuck together and the dowels get stuck in the piece with the deeper hole (which is usually the piece I need to drill more if needed because I can't drill more on the shorter one) and then I'm constantly needing to use pliers to get them out. And then one of the times, I was trying to yang the pieces apart and me, being super dumb, had my head right above the piece and when it finally came flying out, I totally hit myself with the wood on the bottom of my lip and it hurt SO FUCKING MUCH! Luckily it didn't start bleeding, but it's a little puffy and I can see a little bit of brusing. (Hopefully it won't get worse over night, lol.) But yeah, that totally sucked. x_x Besides that, I was getting on a roll on my work, then, of course, my drill decided to die. x_x So that ended my progress for the day, lol.
Anyway, my goal for tomorrow is to get all the other shelf pieces put together so that on Monday, I only have those four shelf pieces left and then I can get to cutting the back board piece and drilling all the damn holes to attach the shelf pieces to the back board. (I honestly have no idea how the fuck I'm going to match up the holes from the shelf pieces to the back board, lol. I might need to buy some of those dowel center things.. Why didn't I think of this before when I was already at the store?)
But seriously, I don't know if I'll be able to finish all this by Thursday! =/ I basically need to get everything done by Wednesday night because I have class Thursday morning and I hear it's due in the afternoon. x_x (This week, so stressful!)
Also, I forgot to mention it somewhere up there, but I totally have a cut on my hand and I don't even know how it happened except that when I went to wash my hands halfway through the day, my ring finger near my nail was all bloody. x_x

Anyway, I have been forgetting about the 30 Day Meme, as usual, LOL. So here we go, catching up on the four days I missed, plus today!
Day 08 -- A Moment | Master List
So when I was designing my bookshelf, I was like, "Oh, pretty simple" and it wasn't until, like, yesterday when I finally realized how much work I got myself into. x_x Seriously, I was marking the first couple of pieces for where the dowels would go and then after I finished my fourth piece, I realized that it took me 30 minutes to mark those four pieces and I have 32 fucking pieces! And that was the moment where I was like, FUCK MY LIFE! Because besides these 32 pieces, there are also the entire back board! A MILLION HOLES TO DRILL! WHAT IS MY LIFE?! (Yes, my "moment" is about school work -- I know I am lame like that, hahaha.)
Day 09 -- Your Beliefs | Master List
Hmm, my beliefs... I don't really know what to say about this because it's so broad, LOL. I'll just say that I'm not religious and have never been. Also, I have no desire to be converted and I get annoyed when people feel it is their duty to try. (Yeah, just no.) I mean, I respect everyone's beliefs and their religious choices, but I would like it even more if those persistent people would respect my choice not to be religious. (Oh how quickly this turned into a mini rant, lol.) I'll just stop now, haha.
Day 10 -- What You Wore Today | Master List
LOL, not my best day for this question! I'm pretty much wearing stuff I don't care about getting dust on because of drilling. So yeah, I'm wearing my grey high school ROTC t-shirt and Southpole jeans that are probably four years old (but they still look good!), lol. (I really need to buy new jeans... I haven't gotten any new ones in, like, three years! @_@)
Day 11 -- Your Siblings | Master List
I have two -- a sister and a brother. I'm the oldest one. My sister isaznearthdragon, which I mentioned before on some other day of this meme, haha, and my brother is still in high school, but is SUPER TALL. (Seriously, he got all the tall genes! It's kind of unfair, LOL.) I get along with both of them pretty well, though I'm obviously closer to aznearthdragon since we're only a year apart. Yeah, IDK, they are awesome -- we are totally random together and say lots of ridiculous things and it's just fun. XP
Day 12 -- What’s in Your Bag | Master List
Hmm, the queston is which bag, LOL. I'll just go with the bags I carried to school today, though I left some of that stuff in studio, so technically it's not in my bag now. None-the-less...
Laptop/Messenger Bag
Laptop (which is obviously not in there anymore, lol), sketch book, planner, green clipboard, a stack of random class papers, my CRP 336 notebook, a pad of grid paper, a mini 45 degree triangle (which I left at school), 12 pens, and a green highlighter.
Purse
Lanyard with keys and ID cards, lotion, a pack of Stride gum (which is almost empty), camera, wallet, mirror, Blistex, contact eye drops, and a pen.
Reuseable Grocery Bag
Portable hand drill (which I left at school, except for the battery, which I brought home to charge), my phone charger, doweling jig (left at school), water bottle, tupperware (which I need to put in the sink, lol), spray paint and spray primer (left at school), and an architectural scale (which I also left at school).
Wow, long entry is long, lol. Anyway, don't be expecting many recs this week since I'll be busy writing papers and building my bookshelf. I have a couple recs leftover from, like, two weeks ago that I'll probably post tonight, but that's about all I have for now, lol. I can't wait until this stressful week is over!
