Me, me, me...
Oct. 11th, 2010 04:20 pm- I've lost my watch! Seriously, I am very depressed by this! ;_; I was looking all over for it yesterday when I was getting ready to go grocery shopping and it was nowhere to be found. =( I have a feeling it's lost somewhere in my roommate's boyfriend's apartment because I remember taking it off and putting it in my jacket pocket when I was cooking over there, so it probably fell out and with my luck, they probably won't be able to find it. =(((( I'm so depressed at the prospect of not having a watch. =(((((( HOW WILL I SURVIVE?!
- Last night, Tara (my roommate), Teresa (friend who lives next door), and I had an impromptu board meeting at my place (we are all officers in the same club -- sometimes it's beneficial to have most of the board live next to each other, lol). Anyway, while we were discussing cool things like where we want to have a trip and boring things like budget and prices, we also somehow got around to talking about high school. I'm not sure how it happened, but it was probably a combination of Teresa being on FB, Tara drinking wine, and me playing "emo" music, LOL. Anyway, someone brought up the question of which clique(s) we were all in. That's always an interesting question because some people change a lot from high school to college and the problem with that question is that people tend to make assumptions about you based on cliques, obviously.
Anyway, Tara was apparently a giant clique jumper, from prissy princess to goth to emo to what she is now. It's kind of funny because I wouldn't have expected any of that from her (which, hi, back to my assumptions point, lol). And Teresa was basically a mean girl, lol, which I actually did expect because she kind of seems like the type. (No offense, I totally hung out with the mean girls type back in middle school, but yeah, she totally has that personality to be one.) And I guess I was an ROTC freak because that's basically the group I hung out with. I guess the difference is that my school wasn't very clique-y and their schools were. I mean, there were obviously cliques, but I've never really experienced anything on the level of the cliques you see on TV's version of HS, so I guess I never really understand the concept of a clique defining you and your friends. But yeah, I just get annoyed when people automatically assume something about me just because of the whole ROTC thing (not that it's specifically directed at them, but just people in general who I've mentioned the whole ROTC thing to). I mean, I know that when I talk about high school, ROTC was a major part of my HS experience, but questioning my abilities to take charge and stuff like that just because I'm generally a quiet person is not really my idea of having fun reminiscing about HS. Seriously, it's like a backhanded compliment kind of thing -- that I'm really nice and quiet, therefore it's so amazing that I could hold a high ranking position being and be able to command other people. It's like, F U, don't give me that shit! (Only I can't bring myself to say it because I try and avoid confrontation, but I'm thinking it!) Yeah, I dunno, I just wanted to vent a little because it really annoys me and it's not like ROTC is just this specific type of military-ish people or whatever -- it's pretty diverse! - Another thing that happened later on last night was that Moleskines came up, probably because Tara whipped out hers to work on something and yeah, no offense to people who like/use Moleskines, but I'm one of those Moleskine haters (just like how I'm kind of an Apple hater -- whatever, I don't care what you say, I probably will not agree with your Apple love). Anyway, Tara said someone bought it for her the first time I saw it and made fun of her for it and then we were talking about some people in our major and like, I totally said that "People who use Moleskines are pretentious" and today, I saw on FB that she totally posted on her status that she Just got called pretentious for owning a Moleskine. =/ and she totally added that =/ face there at the end, as if she cared! (She is kind of a Moleskine hater too, don't let that meeh face fool you! And also, OMG, why start that drama?!) And when I talked to her earlier, she said that a lot of people actually commented on it when she checked in the morning (because, like, half of the people we know have them), but that they deleted their comments before she could see them, which just makes me laugh because now I'm totally wondering what people actually said to that. XP
- Lastly, I'm gonna do that whole 30 Days Meme because I can. XP So here goes...
( Day 01 - Introduction )
Yeah, I really need to stop procrastinating and figure out what I'm gonna do for the Abstract Show... It will most likely NOT be abstract, but whatever.
