[personal profile] aznearthdragon, the brother, and I went to a screening of Warrior today. They were giving out posters and t-shirts -- we got the last shirts. They ran out of guys shirts though, so the dude just gave our brother the last girl shirt instead, lol. At first we thought all the posters were the same, but then we saw some other people with the main poster, so I'm assuming they probably had three different ones. Anyway, I got the one with just Tom Hardy on it. =)

T-Shirt & Poster!
Yay for free stuff! XP

The movie was okay, but there were some things I didn't really like. The main thing that was really annoying to me was the montage-type thing in the middle, when they split the screen with different footage. It was just done SO BADLY. I mean, I get they wanted to show everything that was happening at the same time or whatever, but there are definitely better ways to show that than the way they did it. It just looked so amateur-ish and I was totally cringing at the composition and yeah, it was bad.

Also, I kinda didn't really like the ending of the movie. =/ I mean, where it did end was probably the natural ending point for this kind of movie, but I felt like things were still pretty unresolved. IDK, maybe it's just me and my desire for nice and tidy endings, but I felt like they set up the narrative, but then fell short of delivering a satisfying ending. If nothing else, there wasn't enough interaction between the brothers -- their one and only conversation so wasn't enough for me -- and the characters didn't really grow or change for the better.

Another thing, I was kind of annoyed that Brendan just kind of disregarded his wife's feelings about him fighting and how she just kind of accepted that he was going to do it after a tiny bit of arguing! Like seriously girl, why did you give in so easily?! I mean, I suppose if she did stop him, there would have been no movie, but seriously, it's pretty clear that she would rather lose the house than see her husband hurt and if it were me, I would have been like, "No bitch, not gonna happen!" And then how the principal and the kids end up watching and cheering on their teacher was totally random and kind of totally weird. I guess they were invested in their teacher, but still, it just didn't really sit well for me.

IDK, I apparently have a lot of feelings, lol.

Other than that, it is an awesome fight movie if you're into that. XP Sadly, I am not, so I spent, like, half the movie wincing at things because I don't like pain, lol.

Jellin' like a felon, oh my God. I really want to try and catch a screening, if I'm not sure if there's going to be another in my area.

I have a feeling I'm going to agree with you on the ending just based on what I've read about it, but I also have a feeling I'll be too busy staring at THard to think too hard about much else.
