UGH, BOOBS!

Just a little venting because this has come up recently, as it usually does...
So the thing is, I have big boobs. And, of course, this comes up in conversations sometimes and I complain about this sometimes because they're just there and it's not like something unnoticeable, right? Anyway, usually after I complain about having big boobs to my girl friends, there always, ALWAYS, comments along the line of "I'm sure most girls would love to have that problem" or "Well, at least guys like them" as if these things are suppose to make me feel better or something! And me, of course I'm way too nice to be all pissy back to them (because if I'm complaining about my boobs, I'm obviously talking to my close friends), but seriously, WTF! To the first thing, yeah, maybe some girls want big boobs, but actually having them isn't all that awesome! THEY'RE HEAVY! THEY GET IN THE WAY! THEY MAKE YOU LOOK FAT! And the second response, umm, hello, THAT IS NOT ANY CONSOLATION! Seriously, I don't want guys staring at my boobs, okay?! There is nothing awesome about that what-so-ever! >O
Anyway, besides how much those comments suck, there's also the fact that I have big boobs but a small frame! NOT MANY STORES SELL BRAS FOR LARGE CUP/SMALL FRAME PEOPLE! Seriously, this probably pisses me off the most because WTF?! I guess people/stores/whatever think that the only large cup/small frame people in the world get it from plastic surgery, but THIS BODY TYPE EXISTS NATURALLY, OKAY?! And it just annoys me when I can't just go bra shopping like everyone else at Victoria's Secret or whatever because they don't carry my size! -_- (BTW, never get fitted at VS because THEY KNOW NOTHING about bra fittings!)
Another thing that annoys me about having big boobs is that it's SUPER HARD TO GO SHOPPING! I have such a hard time finding something my size because anything that fits by frame is WAY TOO SMALL in the boob area and anything that fits my boobs is WAY TOO BIG on my body. LIFE, WHY SO HARD?! And don't get me started on dresses -- dress shopping is the worst! Because nothing is my size! Like, there are so many cute things, but I just have to breeze right by because 90% of them would never fit my boobs! And anything that fits my boobs will be a bazillion sizes too big and make me look fat! >O
Pretty much life just sucks if you have big boobs and a small frame because I have yet to find a place that caters to this body type! The only place that where I can even find my bra size is at Intimacy (and there aren't that many stores) and then of course, there's Bare Necessities and Fig Leaves online, but is it too much to ask that I'd rather shop in a store where I can try on the bras? x_x
Anyway, if you've actually read through all my rant-y ramblings, then you're probably just wondering what my bra size is, lol. I think I posted it in a meme a few weeks ago or something, but yeah, I'm a 32F. *cries*
(So yeah, if you actually know a store with clothing for big boobs/small frame people, please be telling me RIGHT NOW! Because it is my hope that one day, I will be able to buy clothes that fit and don't make me look ridiculous!)

Date: 2010-09-18 02:46 am (UTC)One of my best friends is tiny-- like, just a total itty-bitty pixie type-- and she's always joking about how she wishes she were more cleavage-ly inclined, the way I am. And I sympathize with the flat-chested thing, I really do! Because she has a hard time finding dresses and shirts that are flattering to her frame, and so do I, and it's not fair that our standard of beauty puts so much attention on boobs, &c.
However.
I got extremely annoyed with her about a month ago when I was telling her about the incredibly rude male administrator at the school where I was working, who suggested that my shirt was "inappropriately low-cut" for a school environment.
(I was wearing a shirt with a neckline like this, for the record. It was not low cut, and I even had a camisole underneath it, because I teach sixteen year old boys and I am not an idiot, and I am fully aware that they will look down anyone's shirt at that age. Because, well: boobs. They're sixteen and stupid, it happens.)
Anyway.
So I'm venting about this to my friend, who is also a teacher, and she said, "Well, to be fair, you are large chested." Which-- dude, yes, I know. I cannot help that. They're just sort of there, you know? Have been since I was in middle school. But having a large chest does not mean that I am immodest, or flaunting my sexuality in an inappropriate way, or that I should have to wear a damn habit in order to be seemly in the classroom. I am way more appropriately dressed than the English teacher who wears skirts that make me doubt the existence of her underwear, so: bite me.

Just wearing anything even remotely form-fitting makes me self-conscious sometimes because I feel like people will think I'm flaunting or whatever, but it's like, dude, I can't help that my chest is naturally big!
Anyway, that "to be fair" part of your friend's response? MAKES ME SO MAD! Because WTF, how is that even fair?! If someone else with a more modest chest wore that shirt, they wouldn't get any crap about it! ARGH, SO ANNOYED!

Date: 2010-09-18 07:15 am (UTC)It's a little unrealistic for retailers to continually assume small people can't have large chests and vice versa (at last, not enough people for them to have a variety of viable options available for them), and it makes bra shopping an even bigger hassle than it inherently is. And I completely agree that being able to hunt down your size exclusively online isn't necessarily helpful--personally, I'm picky and have to try something on before I know I want to spend money on it. Looking at pictures tells me nothing about how something feels or moves.
And I'm only a C cup. In Korea, anything close to that size tends to have a picture of a breast-feeding woman on the packaging and I'm not too keen on buying a bra that means I must be lactating.

Date: 2010-09-18 09:25 pm (UTC)Buying bras online is so hard because you're always running the risk of it not actually fitting since the fit isn't consistent between all bras. And then there's the hassle of returning and having to pay for return shipping and yeah, so annoying! -_-
I was looking at bras online the other day and like half of them in my size were nursing bras. x_x (Oh gosh, I would probably have the hardest time finding bras if I was in an Asian country! I've only known, like, two other Asian girls who have really big boobs, LOL.)
