- POTLUCK!
So yesterday, our club was having a Thanksgiving potluck (except only the officers were supplying the food) and it was a freaking journey helping carry the food from the apartment to campus, lol. Anyway, so we finally made it to our meeting room and then I had to run off to studio to grab the drinks I brought earlier in the day and then when I came back, we basically started eating. And so everyone was crowding around the table with all the food and everyone near food kinda starts grabbing stuff and then we kind of decided on a direction or something and I was just getting my food and I don't even know why other people weren't as fast as me, but suddenly I had a bunch of food and Teresa was calling me a juggernaut! Seriously, what? LOLOLOL. Like, she was all, "[Remula] is too aggressive! She's a juggernaut!" and I was just standing there like WTF because seriously, WTF?! I have to say, I've never been called a juggernaut in my life until yesterday, LOL. And then after that comment, Teresa saw that Blake had no food on his plate yet and she was like, "Blake, get some food! You have to be more aggressive! Learn from [Remula]!" (I don't think I'm all that aggressive! Also, it wasn't like I was fighting for the food! It just happened to be that no one else was taking what I was going for! Or something, IDEK, people probably didn't want to look like pigs, but whatever, I don't care about that, hahahah.)
Anyway, we set up a bunch of desks facing each other so we were in this makeshift long table configuration and we were all just eating when Teresa decided to made us introduce ourselves to each other and share an interesting fact or story. Gotta say that some people's facts/stories were hilarious, LOL. I went with my lame-ass award story because it just kinda popped into my head. (It's kind of hard coming up with something interesting on the spot! And everyone was telling super amusing stories!)
The story (in case you're interested): So basically, at the end of senior year in high school, all our teachers came together to make special awards for each person in out graduating class (there were about 100 of us), so everyone got weird awards like, "Most likely to wear pink" and "Most likely to be late" and other ridiculous things that people can only come up with after knowing you for four years, right? So my award was "Most likely to take over the world and perfect attendance" -- seriously, no lie, I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere at home! It was like they couldn't decide between these two completely different awards so they combined it and gave me two! Also, the sad part is that I didn't even have perfect attendance that year! Also also, after four years, I still don't know how they meant that first part, LOLOLOL. - BOOKSHELF!
I painted the second coat on my bookshelf today! I also painted the sides! \o/ I didn't get to paint the back though because I obviously couldn't figure out a way to stand the bookshelf up when it was wet with paint on all sides, lol. But that will get done when I come back from SD and then my bookshelf will finally be finished! ♥♥♥ I will probably take some pictures of it tomorrow morning (because I have to go to studio to get stuff I forgot to bring home with me earlier) and then post a bunch of pictures of it this weekend when I have time. XP
Anyway, let me tell you about my epic fail today! I basically just finished painting the side of the bookshelf and then I noticed I missed a spot on one of the shelves inside! So I was leaning forward to paint the spot I missed and then after I finished, I lean back and then I noticed that I leaned my leg all up against the side! The side of my jeans were all green from the paint and I had to go wash it off at the sink (after I repainted the side, obviously) and it mostly came out, except my jeans were all wet and my leg was cold on the walk home later on, lololol. I did laundry and washed the pants earlier and there's still the tinge of green, but it mostly looks like a giant grass stain, lol. (But, of course, there's no way that part of the pants would ever get a grass stain and for such a long stretch, lol. Sadness!) - SAN DIEGO!!! (And Dead Week...)
So I said it before, but OMG SAN DIEGO TRIP THIS WEEKEND! If you don't remember, my studio is doing a weekend trip to San Diego and I'm leaving tomorrow around noon-ish. I'm so excited because I've been kinda homesick and it'll be good to go home and seeaznearthdragon and my parents and my brother, lol. Saturday is pretty much jammed packed with tours and stuff and it kinda sucks because of the drive between downtown and La Jolla, but yeah. Hopefully it's good. And then after that, I'm totally skipping Monday and Tuesday of class and just staying in SD because I'm already home! And would you go back up 5.5 hours for two classes just to drive back down home for Thanksgiving break? I DON'T THINK SO! XP
Anyway, good part is that I'm home for a whole week! Bad part is that the week after Thanksgiving break is Dead Week. ;_; I spent some class time today scheduling what work I need to get done next week, but my conclusion is that I don't have enough time to finish everything I need for Dead Week. =( I have presentations in both my CRP classes about my final papers in both those classes, which means I kinda need to get most of those papers actually written so I know what I'm talking about! And then besides that we're also have our review for studio! The professor said Monday and Wednesday, but what is that ridiculousness of having reviews on MONDAY after a break?! We're hoping to change his mind this weekend to Wednesday and Friday since that would be more reasonable. But yeah, I seriously don't have anything for this review -- I feel so stressed just thinking about it. ;_; I think I'm just going to have my abstract, make some circulation maps, and come up with a program. Possibly I might do some preliminary master planning, but I'm pretty much for sure not going to have a finalized master plan. =/ I know a few people are making site models, but I don't really have the time or resources at home to make that. Also, I feel it's kind of unnecessary at this point because it's not like I have anything to put on my site. x_x Whatever, stressed. =/ - HINES COMPETITION!
I am doing the Hines Competition! Went to a preliminary meeting a few days ago for it and today we split into teams (we're having three teams of five from our school). I'm kinda stressed just thinking about it, but I'm pretty excited as well! Thank goodness it's only two weeks of intense work, lol. It makes it feel way more manageable! XP
Well, that's pretty much it for now, lol.

Date: 2010-11-19 09:40 pm (UTC)Oh productivity... It is pretty foreign to me as well! This is why I will be stressing this next week at home trying to finish everything I haven't done during the quarter! *sweatdrop*
