  1. I have spent too much time these past few weeks watching House Hunters and House Hunters International. That is the only explanation for why I feel all excited about getting my own house someday, lol. Sadly that is SUPER far away since I have no money, no job, and no one to settle down with. x_x

  2. Song on repeat for the past few weeks: Patrick Stump - This City. ♥ I was playing it off YouTube for the longest time, but I finally downloaded it when it was the iTunes Single of the Week the other day. XD Even so, I still end up playing it on YT, lol, probably because I've had that tab open this whole time. XP Why isn't his album out yet?!

  3. I've neglected my studying for the CDT, but I really need to crack down and read the stupid book! =/ I made a schedule for myself last week of the pages I need to read each day, but sadly I'm, like, a week behind, LOL. Darn internet and TV and everything else in the world being so much more interesting than studying!

  4. I've pretty much read almost all the fics listed as Steve/Tony on AO3. This probably shows my priorities, lol, considering how much of the CDT book I have not read in comparsion. *sweatdrop* I'm excited for the Big Bang fics coming in September -- I love long fics the most. ♥

  5. [personal profile] aznearthdragon is listening to some old 90s Cantopop right now -- oh nostalgia! ♥♥

  1. MIDTERM!
So on Thursday we had a midterm in my 443 class and I totally meant to print out all the material before leaving for NY so that I could study in NY, but alas, I ran out of time and didn’t get around to it, so that meant Wednesday night, after getting back, was full of printing and studying. I kind of gave up around 3-ish in the morning even though I didn’t finish going through the material because I was tired and still kind of on NY time. I woke up around 9-ish on Thursday and did a quick skim through the rest of the stuff I didn’t get to and didn't even have time to review anything before I had to get to class. =( The midterm kind of sucked because there were some questions I knew I needed to review and I didn’t get a chance to really absorb it when I went through everything. I’m kind of sad now because I don’t really think I did well enough to get an A on that midterm and I was one point from an A on the last one and there’s only the final left and I really want an A in this class! ;_; So annoyingggg!

  2. STUDIO!
On Thursday, our professor emailed us and said that he would be coming around to talk to us on Friday and that we had to catch up to Step #5 (which was due two weeks ago and extended to last week before we left) and have it all printed to go over. Needless to say that I was so not there and, honestly speaking, I was still stuck somewhere around Step #3. That obviously meant an all-nighter to catch up as much as I could. -_- Of course, I probably would have gotten more done if I didn’t sit around and catch up on the last two episodes of Glee before getting to work, but whatever, no one said I was the brightest crayon in the box, LOL. At least I knew that it was a bad idea -- I just did it anyway. XP (I am definitely talking about those two episodes later in this post, lol.)

Anyway, Tara and I were sitting in our living all night working on stuff -- I was mostly working on Revit and trying to come up with a working model of my building so I could get my exploded axonometric done (Step #4). Revit hated me all night, probably because my building is freakin’ huge and I don’t have a lot of memory on my laptop, so by the time class started, I still was where I was before I started -- a little bit of everything but nothing done. Luckily (or not so luckily) he said he was going in alphabetical order in his e-mail and when I was in class, I realized that meant that I was last, lol. So there I was working my ass off trying to get stuff done and then I eventually got a lame axon printed that looked kind of horrible and showed program more than anything else, but at least it was something printed. I also had my hand-drawn section that I drew up in CAD, but I didn’t have time to print it. -_- At least it was hand-drawn and done though, since in his e-mail he said he didn’t want to look at the computer. (Moot point because when he came to me, we ended up looking at my Revit model anyway.)

So there I was waiting for my turn and I stopped working on my Revit model when it was about two people before me because I knew that if I drew anything, it would take forever to finish regenerating and I didn’t want to take that risk for when he got to me. And so he finally made it to me around 5:57PM, of course, and then I kind of showed him where I was and then he asked about my section model and I said that I didn’t know what the facade looks like still and he was like, "I feel like you still don’t have a building concept" blah blah and that was why I’m still struggling with the facade and stuff. And really, I suppose that is kind of true, but mostly it’s just been me being focused on other little things in my project. -_-

Then he was going on about it might be because I didn’t think about how the terminal was laid out and how I should reconsider the configuration because I laid out the gates based on the information from codes and more of an engineering point of view or whatever. IDK, it was ridiculous because he started talking about how I can’t do an SFO layout because of space restrictions, then brought up LAX and how things were laid out there and the whole time I was thinking, WHAT. THE. FUCK!

Seriously! I mean, just saying I should reconsider the configuration made me see red because that was my problem in the first place, was listening to him tell me to think about it more and that’s why I was behind in Step #3 (floor plan, elevation, section) since he told me to reconsider my layout at that point too! And back then, I actually HAD an oval shaped layout that he was talking about and he didn’t really like it -- I didn’t really like it either because I didn’t feel like that was working for the site and seriously, he was basically telling me to go back to where I was at about 4-5 weeks ago and that is just not on! >O Also, I totally DID think about how I was laying things out and there was a reason I decided on doing a long terminal and I was so annoyed he was trying to sell me on the stupid centralized layout thing.

Of course I argued my point and talked about how I felt that the layout I had worked better for the area because of the circumstances surrounding the airport’s use and stuff, though I probably could have argued it better if I wasn’t so tired from pulling an all-nigher and then having to wait until the end to talk to him. But I still got my point across, I guess, because he backed off trying to get me to change things and told me to do some precedent studies about linear airports and other buildings and how they dealt with the facade and to figure out what the building wants to look like and stuff and to tell him what I want to do on Monday. (Thanks for giving me nothing to work with! I mean, it’s not as if I was going to do that anyway. -_-)

I haven’t worked on my project at all today, but I figure this is a break and tomorrow I will get down to business and figure out my facade. How is this already week eight?! Two more weeks until finals and 12 more weeks until I’m done with school for good!

  3. CHARLENE KAYE! (And Darren Criss, lol.)
How much do I love Dress and Tie (featuring Darren Criss)?! It’s so lovely, I think I’ve been playing it on repeat almost all day, since I found it. (Why yes, I am slowly catching up on my f-list, how did you know? XP) I didn’t even know who Charlene Kaye was ‘til today, but I love her voice. ♥ I mean, check out this video of Skin and Bones!

How cute (and heartbreaking) is that video?! Also, the behind the scenes! Also also, Darren Criss! I don’t know anything about them, but they would totally look cute together (whatever, I totally ship it, LOLOL. XP) I mean, look at them! They are so cute together singing A Whole New World (even when she messed up and he corrected her, lol). ♥ I must go download some of her music later, lol. XP

    EDIT: Now there's a video!
Darren's FACE! Especially at the end! ♥___________♥ Definitely ship Darren/Charlene! XP

  4. GLEE!

DONE FOR THE QUARTER! I'm glad this quarter is finally over and that I'm home because I seriously need a break from school life, lol.

  1. I had my CRP final yesterday and I was kind of freaking out about it except my freaking out eventually turned into "I don't fucking care anymore", but in the end, it wasn't all that bad. It only took me an hour to finish (though ~1/3 of the class finished before me), but I'm pretty sure it was an A- or a B+ because I'm pretty confident about everything I answered. I did have to skip, like, 2.5 questions because I didn't study those things at all, lol. Anyway, the night before I was sort-of studying and then I decided to take a study break to calculate out my grade for the class because I'm one of those people, okay? So I was looking through my scores and feeling super depressed because I know I haven't been taking that class seriously and my assignment grades were just meeh and I still hadn't gotten my midterm back from way back when, so when I was calculating, I had to assume the worst and put that score down as a 70%(because that's how bad I felt I did) and then I was all sad because it was like how you kinda know something bad, but then finding out for sure that it was. -_- And that probably brought on my "I don't care anymore"-ness, lol. Anyway, I got my midterm back after turning in my final and my midterm grade was slightly better at 83.5%, but still not good enough to get me up to an A in the class, so I'm pretty resigned. ;_; This will ruin my A-streak in all my CRP classes -- it's was like my do-good niche, but not so anymore. =/ Anyway, I hope I get an A in my other CRP class to make up for this disappointment, but who knows -- my term paper was kind of ridiculously blah, so it might be a B also. ;_;

  2. Got a ride home yesterday after my final! I was kind of resigned to taking the train today, but on Wednesday night, I found a ride, so awesome sauce! Anyway, we were suppose to leave at 4PM, but she was running late, so we didn't leave until a little before 5PM, but OMG, there was like, NO TRAFFIC! I mean, there was a lot of fog on the drive, but the roads were so clear that we made it to SD by 9PM! Seriously, it's a five hour drive to Carlsbad (which is where I was getting a ride to) and we made it in four! Anyway, [personal profile] aznearthdragon and Sam (her boyfriend) picked me up and then we went to get [personal profile] aznearthdragon's car to go home, but during the ride there, Like a G6 came on the radio (as it usually does) and then we got to talking about The Cataracs and then when we got to the parking lot, we ended up sitting in Sam's car for, like, an hour watching/listening to The Cataracs and Dev on YouTube, LOLOL. I'm sure we would have looked super ridiculous if anyone drove by and saw us because we were just sitting in a car bumping dance music. Anyway, have my favorite Cataracs f/ Dev song:

  3. OMG, why did I not know that JJ Lin had a new album coming out? And that it came out on Tuesday?! I downloaded it earlier (after lots of failed attempts because MU hates me) and it's covers of songs that he wrote for people, but I actually only know, like, three of the songs on the album, so it's pretty much new to me, haha. Anyway, he apparently had an album out last year around this time too! Seriously, where was I when this happened? I'm so bad at keeping track of new music, lol.

  4. I'm having a birthday dinner with some friends on Sunday. =) We're going to Truluck's -- it looks like it's kind of expensive, but whatever. Hopefully it's worth it, LOLOL. XP

  5. I just bought my tickets for New York! I'm pretty excited -- it'll be so awesome. XD I just emailed the class my itinerary (hopefully it went through because I didn't get it in my email ;_;), so I hope someone who has a car will book the same flight or else I will be super stressed trying to find a ride down to LAX.

Break from working on my bookshelf to do this meme. =)

1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload) 5 songs you love that begin with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

[livejournal.com profile] aredblush gave me R.

I didn't actually think I had that many songs that started with R, but apparently I did, LOL. Anyway, it was kind of hard to choose just five, but I narrowed it down, lol, so here we go... I'll even give commentary because that's just how I roll!

Takeshi Kusao - Rakuen ~Frantic~
An image song from DN Angel, lol. I honestly have no idea what the song is about, but whatever, I like it! It kind of sounds a little haunting, haha.

Lady Sovereign - Random
Whatever, I know some people don't like Lady Sovereign, lol, but I totally love her Public Warning CD, hahaha. Anyway, this song is exactly what you expect from the title -- it's a bunch of random crap and makes a lot of references to stuff that was hot back at the time and it just makes me laugh. XP

Rise Against - Roadside
I like Rise Against and I really like this song, even though it's different than most of their other stuff since it's a little slower and it's a duet. (The girl was the vocalist from Holy Roman Empire, if you want to know, because I remember spending forever looking it up back in the day, LOL.)

The Like - Release Me
I just like The Like, lol. It kind of has a old school feel to it, but with a modern twist, or something like that.

Skillet - Rebirthing (Acoustic)
I like the acoustic version more than the regular one, haha, so yeah. XD [personal profile] aznearthdragon was actually the one who introduced me to Skillet, lol, which is weird because it's usually the other way around. XP

I feel like my list can kind of be considered a weird assortment of music, but it kind of perfectly describes my music collection! You know, random anime music, weird rap, and an assortment of hardcore / punk / rock / alternative stuff. The only thing missing from this list is cheesy C-pop, which I also have an abundance of. XD

Anyway, yay, music!

I now must venture into the rain in search of food. Yay for Sundays in studio! (There is surprisingly not that many people here -- if I were other people, I'd be worried about not finishing!)

Music post because I'm bored. Organized by artist. If a link is dead, tell me so I can get rid of it. If there's something you REALLY want (assuming I have it), I'll upload.

Songs added whenever I feel like it.

I've noticed that a lot of people have downloaded stuff (or, at least, there's a lot of downloads, so I assume they're different people), so I'd appreciate it if you'd comment when you take something, since it's common courtesy. Also, please don't hotlink since I spent time uploading the songs and stuff. Thanks.

MORNING
Woke up around 3:15 because of stuff.. BLEH! Then went back to bed and got up around 6:30. Got ready and then ate some Raisin Bran. Decided that I should see what was on MTV2 while I was eating, so I turned on the TV thing on the computer and what do I see? Making the Video for Love Like Winter. OMFG. It was in the middle of it too! I was soooo mad! 'Cause if I knew it was gonna be on at 7:00 in the morning, I would have turned it on sooner and watched it 'cause I was already done by then! ARGH! So mad.. I had stuff to do though, so I just started recording from where it was -- there was like, only ten more minutes left. Left for class and yeah..

INTRO TO EDES 101
Went to the theatre and waited forever.. Finally, the doors opened and we went in. There was about 420 people or whatever.. Anywayz.. They just talked about Blackboard and how to use it and some of the assignments. Then the teacher ((he's also the dean of CAED)) gave a lecture about design and the community or whatever.. Then after that, watched a movie clip, then we were free.

BREAK
Went back to SG and just went on the computer for a while. Later on, worked on my self-portrait.. It's so ugly. *sigh* Oh wellz.. After that, went back to my self-appointed break and continued with the music and fic-reading until about 1:00. Then went to the cafeteria and ate some food before coming back and then heading out. Went to the bookstore to pick up my English book, since I got an e-mail saying it was in. Took forever to get, then headed to math.

MATH 142
Took notes about integral substitution.. Then got a lot of homework. x_x

AFTER
Went to the bookstore again to buy an extension cord. I would have gotten it when I was there earlier, but I didn't have time. x_x The line wasn't as long as yesterday, but it still took forever. x_x

Went back to SG and then just blasted my music while working on the math homework. Good stuff.. I love listening to music while working, lol. XP Especially when I can play it loud-ish. I had my door open, but it's not like there were that many people home, so yeah. Mostly, they were just going in and out.. Finished my work and then read the essay for English and wrote the response to it. Once I finished that, went to eat dinner at 6:00 and now I'm here, writing this entry.

Well, I said I'd talk about music, so I'm talking about music.. What is there to say? It has changed a lot over the years.. Not that I noticed much when I was younger, but yeah, hahah. I remember when I was a little kid and my dad driving us to elementary school and us just listening to the radio. For those who don't know me that well, I tend to sing along with anything I've heard. Sometimes I don't know the lyrics, so I say whatever it sounds like to me from the multiple times I've heard the songs. But yeah.. Basically, I remember singing along, haha. And, of course, me being the little kid I was, I didn't have a clue of what the hell I was saying. Needless to say, once I got older and actually listened to the words coming out of my mouth ((the radio has a tendency to play old stuff sometimes, haha)) it was like whoa. A big WTF to what kids listen to, haha. And now, I can only say it's worst since hip-hop and rap are popular nowadays and those songs have a tendency to talk about.. not so kid-friendly topics, haha.

Anyway.. Now, for sometime that bugs the hell out of me. How the hell do genres work? I mean, seriously! I don't get it. It's like, people are like it's pop, it's rock, it's hip-hop, it's rap, it's emo, it's alternative, it's country, it's whatever. And, yeah, I understand each genre's suppose to have it's own sound or whatever, but how do you KNOW what something is? I mean.. I dunno about other people, but I personally HATE genres. I can't separate what's what. And here's a question I've been dying to know the answer to.. I'll even bold it, so if you know, PLEASE TELL ME! What the hell constitutes as "alternative" music? Yeah.. That's been bugging me since I've know it was a genre. ^_^;;

Here's my thoughts on genres.. To me, every song is pop. Yes, pop. I mean, for me, most everything I've heard has been from radio or TV so therefore, it is pop because pop comes from the word popular. I dunno how pop turned into its own genre, but whatever. Everything is pop. If I get a feeling that a song is definitely one thing, like rock or whatever, I call it rock-pop. If it's hip-hop, I call it hip-hop-pop. Yeah, that's for when I feel I can categorize. Generally though, I don't know what anything is so I'm just like "that's angry music" or "that's happy music", haha. And yeah.. The reason for that, of course, is that a lot of categories to me sound the same. I mean, what's the difference between hardcore and rock and punk and goth and emo and all that? Maybe there's a definite difference, but most of the time, a song can fit into any, depending on how you categorize. But yeah, I'll just stop with this train of thought or I'll end up repeating myself over and over and over..

I think it's kinda weird how once upon a time, there were vinyls and cassettes and now, it's CDs and MP3s or various forms of digital music. I mean.. I dunno. I can't explain what I'm thinking.. ^_^;; I remember back in second grade, my teacher, Mrs. Anderson had a record player in her room and me and Nancy used to hang out in there during lunch sometimes.. And we'd mess with her records and stuff 'cause she just left us in there alone ((we're trustworthy, haha)) and she said we could. It was always so interesting ((to me, at least)) how when you put the needle down, it starts playing and stuff.. It's so weird.. I mean, how are you suppose to know when a certain song starts? I mean, I'm sure I knew back then 'cause I did, but yeah.. Hahaha. Yeah. I don't think I'm making sense, so I'll just stop now...

Tomorrow, we -- well, I -- will discuss.. umm.. I guess I'll talk about expectations. Look forward to it. XP
