So yesterday, I was suppose to go up to SLO to move my stuff into my apartment, right? We woke up at 4AM (SO FREAKIN' EARLY) and left the house at 5AM and, like usual, I couldn't sleep in the car. (Seriously, I hate that I have trouble falling asleep. x_x) Anyway, there wasn't really traffic, so we made it there at about 10AM. First thing we do is obviously check the apartment -- new carpet (YAY, but OMFG they didn't even vacuum -- there were a bunch of shaggy carpet pieces everywhere!), and tile in the kitchen instead of the gross linoleum (also YAY), but they didn't put tile in the bathroom (SO LAME!). And then we check my closet because I left some stuff on the upper shelf thing (the manager said I could since they were only changing the carpets) and of course, of course it was all missing. x_x And then I check the cabinets between the bedrooms because I left some of my drawing/modeling stuff there also and there was, like, a few things from my closet that whoever moved there, but yeah. CAN YOU SAY PISSED OFF?! I mean seriously, WTF is wrong with people that whoever was working on my apartment felt the need to TAKE MY STUFF? There was NO REASON for them to be in my closet or in the cabinets because they're working on the floor and just painting the walls! Luckily there wasn't anything, like, super important about the stuff that's missing, but it's the principle! (Stuff that was missing: rolls of paper towels, toilet paper, some soap and lotion bottles, and, like, two packs of disinfecting wipes.) Seriously, STILL SO PISSED because what if I left some more valuable stuff?! >OOOOO

So yeah, of course I called the main office, but all they could say was that they'd ask the people who they hired to paint, but you know they're not gonna own up to taking my crap. >O And like, I also asked if they were planning to put tile in the bathroom (answer: no, those assholes!) and then they told me that they ordered new windows (mine are SUPER OLD) and they'll be replacing them on Tuesday but that I could "still move in today because it won't affect your stuff" but yeah, uh, NO. I mean, it would be something different if I was actually staying there after moving my stuff in, but seeing as I was planning not to come back up until right before school starts and after having stuff stolen from me while I'm gone, there's no way I'd even consider moving my stuff in until AFTER they replace the windows.

After that, we just decided to head over to my grandparents' house in LA since it's on the way home, and just stayed there until about 10:30PM before going home. While there, just watched TV and played around with some of my younger cousins that were also there.


Anyway, the point (and TL;DR version) is we drove FIVE HOURS to get to SLO just to find out that someone stole my stuff and to leave without moving anything back into my apartment. WASTE OF TIME AND GAS MONEY! >O And now we have to waste next Saturday going back up to move in for real and also, I think my parents are just gonna abandon me up there after we finish moving my stuff in so I'll be stuck in SLO a WHOLE WEEK before school starts. x_x

I just got an email from the Architecture Department entitled Student Registration/Scheduling Information so I was like, "Oh yay, they're finally gonna tell us shit!" So of course I go on my way to my Gmail and click on the email in my Inbox, skim through the little opening of "Hope you're doing well, here is some info you need to know, kthxbai" and then scroll past all the crap listed for 1ST YEAR through 4TH YEAR and then I get to this:

Like, I'm just absolutely astounded that this is the important information that I need to know!

• First, I already knew when Open Registration is -- I have a stickie on my desktop with the date in BOLD AND CAPS!


• Second, printing your sked is obvious if you're making changes.


• Third, I have the Calendars and Deadlines link saved in my bookmarks bar!


• Fourth, everyone knows that holds on your account means no registering.


• Fifth, I've been done with my GEs since last year!


• Sixth (and most important!), my friend logged onto G-chat specifically to tell me the faculty list is up AN HOUR BEFORE THIS EMAIL. We figured out that the preference form wasn't up AN HOUR AGO. Don't tell us to check the website for availability -- I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has been checking the website obsessively for this information in the first place!

I AM SO ANNOYED, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! HATE HATE HATE HATE!

So, this has been a long-time coming. I totally think about writing this every once-in-a-while whenever something related comes up, and yeah. Obviously something came up just now, so I figured, good time to write about it, since I'm trying to post again.

I go on Facebook and, at the top of my newsfeed, there is this:

Arch Student #1:....FINALS LOOM...which is very unfortunate
Arch Student #2: what finals, Arch Student #1? we are architecture. i.e. we have no finals/they don't matter...
Arch Student #3: arce. and arce project.
Arch Student #2: frivolous. and unnecessary.
Arch Student #3: agreed.

And there it is -- what Arch Student #2 said, the "[finals] don't matter" and "[finals are] frivolous. and unnecessary". If there's ONE thing I hate about architecture, is THAT kind of attitude, right there.

I HATE that architecture students put EVERYTHING into architecture and studio, and NOTHING into everything else. Granted, that is a generalization, and not everyone does that, but the majority does, and seeing as I'm surrounded by these types of people, I have to acknowledge it and keep my negative comments to myself around these people, or else they'll come verbally attack me in packs until I revise my statement into something "more appropriate" (speaking from experience here!). So yes. The only time I can complain about this is to my friend Teresa or to aznearthdragon or whatever.

Anyway, the point is, mostly everyone has the opinion (and most even say it straight out) that "Architecture is my LIFE!", except, of course, it's only their SCHOOL LIFE and they have plenty fun partying and all that. When it comes to school, however, it''s like, "ditch this class, ditch that class". "Study for GE class? Ehhh, I have architecture to do" and everything else under the sun. And then, when they end up doing not so hot in a class, there's always, "Whatever, it's not like we need a high GPA anyway" and yeah.

You know when you hear people saying that grades don't matter, you assume (almost always correctly) that they don't have good grades.

As you can tell, I'm VERY bitter about this. I mean, maybe this is so "obvious" to them, but to me, it's like a slap in the face. I mean, I'm not what you would call a "hardcore" architecture student -- I know that I'm not as into it as a lot of people, but still. There's a reason that our architecture program is so highly regarded, and when I ended up going here, my only saving grace (seeing that most people DON'T know about Cal Poly) was that the architecture program is constantly ranked 2nd or 3rd in the nation. This, of course, means absolutely NOTHING if the students don't give even try in anything besides architecture. I feel like this is giving architecture students a bad reputation -- too busy, too lazy, always in need of extensions, etc. from the rest of the campus. Seriously, what does this say? It's like, there are things like, "oh, architects suck at math" and "architects can't write" and stuff like that, and I feel offended because, OMG, I can and I think everything else is JUST as important and then there's the feeling of, "WHY IS EVERYONE BRINGING ME DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL?!~" and it just pisses. me. OFF. >O

And yeah... I know I'm being somewhat unreasonable, but in the end, for me, it all boils down to, if you're making the commitment to the class by taking it, the LEAST you can do is PUT IN THE EFFORT. If not, don't take the class. If you can't move on without taking the class, well TOUGH. That obviously means that you are committed to graduating and therefore are committed to the program. SO PUT IN THE FREAKIN' EFFORT! >O

Seriously though, I think that just shows your work ethic -- it's the "I can handle what I'm committing to and I don't overextend myself to the extreme that I can only do well in one area or poorly in all" kinda thing, and that's admirable. Getting C-'s and D's just to move on because you don't care is NOT. Especially for people that are only taking ONE other class besides studio and practice (core major classes). If you only have ONE other thing to focus on besides architecture and you can't even put in the effort to get a good grade, you might as well just GTFO. Seriously. No respect for those people, at ALL.

Finally, my last thoughts on this are the people who use their studios as an excuse. The ones who go, "I have Fowler studio" because everyone knows that Fowler is hard and gives a lot of work. And then, because they're in Fowler studio, or whatever other professor has that sort of reputation, always say things like, (when recommending to other students) "Don't take anything else if you're taking Fowler. Seriously, there's no time for anything else. He just give you SO much work!" and yeah. I don't care HOW much work Fowler (or any other studio professor) gives you -- there's still time to focus on your other classes. Sure, you might not be able to take the usual 16/17 units and might be bumped down to just 12/13 units, but honestly -- 12/13 units just means ONE EXTRA NON-ARCHITECTURE CLASS. DEAL WITH IT! See the above!


Okay, that was really long, but it's something that really pisses me off. If there's something wrong with what I said, I want to know, 'cause I can vaguely see where most people are coming from with their opinions, but even so, I still don't agree. I know I complain a lot about my workload, but I always know that it's my fault for taking it on. Also, I don't blow off my other classes, no matter how much I complain, so it's not the complaining that pisses me off as much as the people who complain about their other classes, and then blow it off after acting like the other classes were going to put a dent into their time. x_x

do teachers ALWAYS give out homework?! do they feel the need to torture us more than they already do? *sigh* Yea, yea, so this was said because I remembered I had Physics homework.... Physics is sooooo HARD to understand! I get it if somebody explains it to me, but I don't unterstand a WORD when I read the stupid book. *sigh* Have I told you HOW much I hate Physics? Well, I do. We have to do labs practially everyday, and I always fail the the tests and quizes, and I have homework everyday (that I barely get a C on, mind you), and the teacher just talks WEIRD! Yes, I absolutely HATE Physics. And we're learning about electricity for the next few months! I suck at this stuff, and I practically burned myself today when we were doing a lab. Stupid electricity, can't burn other people, have to burn me.... That and the fact that we couldn't figure out WHERE to connect the freakin wires had me PISSED today!

I should get to my homework, but I don't want to.... I shouldn't put it off, but whatever.

Oh! Did I tell you that we started playing Battmitten (sp?) today in P.E.? Well, we did, and I totally and COMPLETELY SUCK! >_< I can barely hit the stupid birdie! ;_; And Luce, the person I was practicing with, was soooo GOOD!! God, what an embarrassment, to have a whole bunch of people see that you can't serve the birdie with the racket.... at least I wasn't the only one who couldn't serve it, but I was probably the only one who couldn't hit it either! ;_; I HATE this game now! I thought it would be easy, but I suck... *sigh*

Well, Wednesday isn't a late start day.... That sucks, but at least I can sleep in a little on Friday.

We have to turn in the completed scale model and sketches and crap tomorrow. Today, Mr. Myers (the Construction teacher) checked to see what everyone had done. We DIDN'T have the hand sketches (stupid Jamiel), the park layout (again, stupid Jamiel), and we DEFINITELY didn't have all the pieces of the scale model done! Damn! That's practically everything we didn't finish! *sigh* I will NOT get an F on the report card because of them! I'll beat the crap out of them if they don't at least finish the hand sketches, 'cause I can NOT scarifice my A's! Stupid people.... don't they KNOW how to do their work? I mean, my class IS the smartest group! *sigh* I should've been the fucking architect, not Luis or Jamiel (whoever the architect is, I don't know. I mean they could've switched jobs...). Oh well.

I gotta go. My mom's home, so I gotta do my work...

I have a lot of homework today... and it's Friday, too... -_- This sucks. AND I had Mr. Little today, which sucks even WORST! He goes and blames it on us when he said, "Take out your textbooks", and almost no one had it! He didn't even tell ANYONE that we had to bring them everyday! >_< Stupid loser..

You know..before, I used to love going to Math class... But now...Mr. Little RUINED it!! Math used to be FUN! I mean, the work sucked, and all, but the teacher was cool. And NOW, we got Mr. Little... >_<

You know, I had a Mr. Little at Palm last year -- he was the Vice Principal..... for those of you who know the Mr. Little at Palm, you know that he was kinda mean and all.... Well, in my opinion, the Mr. Little at Kearny is WORST than the other Mr. Little, so you KNOW it's bad!!! I mean, EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has him, HATES HIM!! That says something! I mean, usually, there are people who hate teachers and all, but not EVERY student who has the same teacher HATES them! You know that's true. I mean, usually there is at LEAST ONE goodie-goodie who likes a certain teacher... but NO ONE LIKES MR. LITTLE!!

*sigh* I'm done ranting...for now.

Well, we took the Star Language Arts SAT 9 test today. We had "unlimited" time for only 35 problems. And it was SOOOOO EASY! *sigh* But tomorrow and thursday we are taking the Star Math test... And that means the Algebra test! AHHHH!!! And someone in one of my classes says that we are taking the Golden State Exam next Wednesday and Thursday! OMG!! I dunno if it's true, but I hope not!! I mean, GOD! TOO MANY TESTS!!

'Nyways, Civil War Research Report... due next Tuesday.... My topic, the CSS H.L. Hunley. For those peepz who don't know what it is ( don't worry, I didn't either =P ), it's a submarine. So, yea. Now, I gotta get more notes and start the fucking outline... *sigh* Life sucks, doesn't it?

Now, for the other "fun" stuff... 'member the Freak the Mighty project? Well, I dunno if I told ya, but we had 3 peepz in my group: Me, Gizeth, and Guy (yes, that is his name). Anywayz, we (Gizeth and me) kicked Guy out of our group 'cause he wasn't doing anything. So, it was Monday (yesterday), and we're suppose to bring everything to get it together, and Guy still thinks he's in our group, and I STILL dunno how he kept that idea since Gizeth CLEARLY told him (to his face, mind you) that HE WASN'T IN OUR GROUP. And so he tells the teach on us, 'cause "we kicked him out". So we had to talk to the teacher, and explain WHY we kicked him out. We were all, 'He didn't do ANY work!' and 'He wouldn't even sit with us to work on the project in class' and crap like that. She, the teach, made us go outside and "discuss" the situation, 'cause Guy supposibly (is that how it's spelled?) did his part of the work. So we go outside, and he only has ONE part of his work, and it wasn't EVEN typed, which was a requirement! And then he tells us that he has the rest on a disk, WHICH he LEFT at HOME! How stupid can you get?! GOD!! And then he tells us, "I only have one more thing to do." What the FUCK?! Everyone was suppose to have the things ready THAT day so the groups could organize all the papers! So we read the stupid thing he has, which in my opinion SUCKED, and I tell him, "it doesn't make sense". And let me tell you, it made NO SENSE what-so-ever! His was TOTALLY inferior to mine. ^_~ 'Nyways, we go back in and tell the teach that he didn't have all his stuff and we weren't going to look for him the next day so we could fix it up and crap like that. We all decided he could bring his stuff tomorrow... So tomorrow rolls around --- and if you forgot, tomorrow is now currently today --- and he give ME his stuff! And I was like "You have to give this to Gizeth" 'cause we told him she was organizing it, and he all tells me he doesn't know where she was (mind you this was right before the SAT 9 started) and I was thinking, 'WTF?! We just told you YESTERDAY'. So I take the stuff and give it to Gizeth later. Next thing you know, everything is OUT OF ORDER!! We already had the fucking pages numbered ('cause he had to make a new Table of Contents) and I had to come in after school to fix it, and he didn't even HELP!! GOD!! STUPID JACKASS!!

*takes deep breath* I'm better now... no more rants 'til later. ^_~


I'm listening to a song right now... I like this song. ^_^ It's called I Love You OK by Leon Lai. Of course, it's in Chinese and I can BARELY understand it, but whatever. =P "...I Love you OK!...I LOVE YOU!..." I was also listening to this other song, called You Are My Friend, also by Leon Lai. I like that song too. ^_^
